Vehicle Detail
1933 Studebaker Commander Regal Model 73 Up for bids is a very rare, and very original 1933 Studebaker Commander Regal Model 73 with the Straight Eight engine. I am listing this car for my friend Matt, who can be reached at 270-993-9393, or kymanfrommars@aol.com Please contact him for any detailed questions. The car is located in Owensboro, Kentucky 42301 I just recently found this car for Matt. He already owns two first place award winning post war Studebaker show cars, and had me track down a Prewar sedan to add to his fleet. This car became available in California, so I put him on the trail and he bought it without batting an eye. The seller was a well known Studebaker collector, who favors original, unmolested cars. This '33 Commander Eight is no exception to that. Special features on this car include Dual Sidemount Spares, Artillery Wheels, White Wall Tires, Rear mounted trunk, and the Startix starting system. Matt took delivery of the car, drove it less than 100 miles, and has decided that he isn't ready for a Studebaker this early. It's new territory for him and while he loves the car, he's just not comfortable with having such an early, all original classic. After much thought, and considering that the car isn't easily replaceable, he has made the choice to sell the car. The reserve is only what Matt has invested in the car at this point. He just wants to find it a new, loving and caring home. The black lacquer paint that you see is 100% factory original. No, it's not perfect. But it is the finish that the car was built with, and we feel that the original paint is really one of the perks of this car. Not too many late model Studes still have the original paint label on the bottomside of the instrument panel, and even fewer Prewar models. This alone speaks highly of the quality of this car's preservation. Perhaps in even nicer condition than the exterior lacquer, is the original interior of this car. Just like everything else on the car, the interior is completely original, with very little wear. Isn't that back seat just begging for a road trip along some never-ending two lane road? The instrument panel is also in beautiful, unrestored condition. The 55,160 miles showing on the odometer is believed to be correct. The fuel gauge is the only inoperable part on the car. The oil pressure gauge shows a steady 50+ PSI when running, which is to be expected with less than 1000 miles on the engine rebuild. The engine is the original 236" Commander Straight Eight. As stated above, the engine has less than 1000 miles on a rebuild. Matt says the engine starts up even faster than the freshly rebuilt R2 in his '63 Hawk. Of course, an owner's manual for the car is included in the sale. The photos in this listing, as well as a few more, can be viewed here. http://s280.photobucket.com/albums/kk179/1959S2D/33%20Commander/33/?start=all Hopefully I have covered everything. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Matt at the information given at the top of the listing. Or, message me through eBay. Thanks for looking, and good luck! A $1000.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of when the auction ends, paid through Paypal. Remainder of the payment to be made within 7 days of winning the auction.
