This 1986 VW Vanagon was recently traded in at the local dealership on the purchase of a new VW! He was currently driving the van before it was traded in. We are amazed that this 25 year old van still keeps on truckin’. Please note: We had this VW in for inspection and it did not pass due to taillights, oil change and suspension work needing done. We were quoted around $500 to repair. We have decided to sell this classic as a “project car”. While it runs currently it will need some repair to make it safe on the road. We were told that the oil light comes on around 2000 rpms due to needing an oil change. We also want to mention this Vanagon’s title is lableled that it exceeds mechanical limitations. Exterior: This VW Vanagon is white with some chrome trim. There are signs of wear and tear, which is to be expected with the age, such as road rash, paint fade, small areas of surface rust. There are wheel covers on the tires that have enough tread to be considered almost brand new. The VW emblem is not attached to the front grill however we do have it. There is also a front license plate bracket. There are sliding side windows. The handle for the passenger side window is missing. There is a tow hitch on the rear. The back hatch needs some new hydraulis to hold it open, however this Vanagon comes with a custom wooden prop. You will also notice a rear wiper back here. There is a sliding door on the passenger side of this VW to make easy entry and exit. Overall, the exterior of this 1986 Vanagon is in what I would consider good condition, considering that it runs and functions as it should with this age. Please look at all of the pictures. I have not gone over this Vanagon extensively so I may very well have missed a few flaws. Interior: The interior is upholstered in blue. The sport cloth on the seating surfaces looks to be in great condition. The carpeting throughout also looks really good. There are no obnoxious odors here either. This VW seats 7 and can probably sleep even more creatively. The 2 front seat are adjustable. There are Infinity speakers thruououghtout. There is also an In dash CD player (we have not tested this). There is rear air here too. We have not tested how icy this gets. There is a 2nd row of seats that can hold 2 adults. These seat backs will fold forward. There is a 3rd row of seats as well. There is probably a lot that can be done back here with reconfiguring for sleeping, however I did not examine it. The seat back folds down partially. Overall the interior of this VW is in far better condition than what I would expect for a vehicle of this age and unknown miles. Under the Hood: This 1986 VW Vanagon has a 2.1L 4 cylinder engine with a manual Transmission. WHY BUY FROM A DEALER? 1. Price! We are an Independent Dealership! Look at Wal-Mart, high volume companies save you money. 2. In VA, all of our running vehicles have to be State Safety Inspected. Virginia has one of the most strict inspection processes. An independent shop inspects such components as Lights, Suspension, Brakes, Tires, Windshield, and More! We usually plan on spending at least $600 per car to get them to pass state inspection. So, you have piece of mind that this inspection has been done recently. 3. As a dealer, you never have to wait to legally drive and register your car. Even if there is a bank payoff or title, we can facilitate an easy exchange and provide any necessary temporary tags and accompanying paperwork so you can drive away at the time of pick up. (Please note, not all cars qualify for temporary tags if we have the original title at time of transfer. 4. Safety! As a business, you have the added security and confidence that your safety is maintained at the time of pick up. No driving up to a stranger's house, our transactions take place at a licensed dealership. 5. Information available about each car we sell! We are professionals with years of experience. We are not dumping any unwanted junk out of our back yard on ebay. We spend hours taking detailed photos, including specific information about each car, and adding our own impressions of how a car performs. We do not have emotional attachments to these cars and try to be as honest as possible about the overall condition. 6. On, ebay you have the confidence that you are shopping with a state licensed, bonded and insured company. We cannot scam and run eBay frauds the way private sellers could. Plus, look at our years ebay history. We want to talk about a couple of items. We are Wholesale Dealers. We buy our cars Directly from New Car Dealers and Not Auctions. We take all reasonable steps to ensure that we sell quality cars. When they are traded in, someone at the new car dealer drives the car. When we buy the car, someone from our dealership drives the car. If a car has a problem we either fix it or disclose it. We have no intention or knowledge of ever selling a car with a problem. However, all cars break. I wish I could, but I cannot predict when a car will break. We do our best to represent the vehicle fairly, however, we are human and do make mistakes. Any minor imperfections consistent with age are not reasons for refusal of delivery/pick up or negotiation. We sell cars As Is, and cannot warranty any vehicles we sell so please take careful consideration when bidding on or buying now these cars. Whenever we sell a car on ebay, we always seem to be asked how we think the car would function on a long drive home from pick up. I am not confident this VW Vanagon would make a drive home. We are wholesale dealers, please do not ask us to arrange, or compensate for delivery, shipping, transportation, or other related expenses.
