1970 GTO ..started life as a 400 Lemans Sport with disc brakes...everything behind the windshield is STOCK,everything in front(except # matching short block)..is not! It is a numbers matching car! built to be a crusier ,not to sit! the complete front "dog house" is VFN fiberglass and weighs 30 pounds..{you cant tell it by looking!} 350 pounds has been removed from the front of the car by way of aluminum, fiberglass,and AC delete. Now weighs 3410 lbs. You will notice added '72 vents in the front quarter panels to improve air flow. ..The engine is completly rebuilt 30 over and zero decked, KeithBlack hypertech pistons (aprox. 9.7 to1 compression)..will run on regular but not prefered. Edelbrock engine (aprox 400 hp) Ram air IV aluminum heads,crane powermax 72 cam, performer intake, edelbrock 750 carb, holley fuel pump, Ram Air 2 1/2" repro improved casted manifolds with 2 1/2" stainless down tubes, high torque starter. 400 turbo with a light kit and 2600 stall torque converter. Also New: radiator, aluminum waterpump, windsheild, carpet, headliner,stero and speakers. the dash has some cracks . ( Hurst ratchet shifter , triple guages and dual painted '72 mirrors go with the car). Has new tires, 2 1/2 complete exhaust with stainless 3" dual tips . Wheels are one peice vintage 1970 15X8 american S200s. driven it 5000 miles since I restored it ...mostly on 2 powertours and have at times averaged 15 mpg (hiway). Problems: the rear new mainseal has developed a leak..only at high RPM and head design in combination with full baffel plate has made the dipstick nonfuctional..both easily corrected by removing the oil pan. Body needs no repair and no rust . Paint is base coar/clear coat bright blue..2 years old. Car runs very strong and smooth !!
