One 2000 Model year 996 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet and we should have spirited bidding on it. This is both a beautiful and well cared for Porsche. With only 81,700 original miles this Porsche has averaged just 6,800 miles per year since new .......... and it's appearance and performance are like new. It has been owned by the current owner for 3 years and before that ........... a family member had the car so the history is known for the past 6 years. The accident listed was in fact a parking lot incident and the porsche was not moving. This 996 has always been a southern California car and there is no rust anywhere to be found on this car.Recently this 996 version of the trusty 911 has had new rear brakes, new exhaust, new tires and new 19" aftermarket wheels plus a new convertible top motor. While it was at the Porsche Dealer ........... everything was checked and the car has a clean bill of health and needs nothing. Everything works as it supposed to and this car turns heads wherever it goes. Powered by a 3.4 Litre flat 6 with dual overhead cams and 4 valves per cylinder producing 300 Horsepower coupled to a 6 speed manual transmission ........... this Porsche can hold it's own with virtually anything on the road today. Even with the world class performance and style that this Porsche has in abundance ............ it is a bit of a chameleon.............. It actually is a very good highway cruiser .......... For example at 2500 RPM in 6th gear you are traveling at 63 Miles per hour and at 3000 RPM you are traveling at a comfortable 78 Miles per hour ........... and still getting 25 or 26 miles per gallon! ........... Not bad for a legitimate Supercar that sold originally for about $75,000.00 ............. and can most likely be bought today for less than $25,000.00! ................................ In 1999 Porsche introduced the first all new 911 Model in over 30 years .......... named the 996 by the Porche execs in Stuttgart .......... it was called by EDWARDS Automotive ....... " The most Advanced Car that Porsche has ever produced ". ............. . It is water cooled with a aluminum alloy block and dual overhead cams and then Porsche installed it's own variable valve control fuel injection system. Each of the 6 cylinders uses four valves and with a compression ratio of 11.3:1 ............ this is one quick Porsche. The engine puts out 300 Horsepower and is equally at home easing through crowed commuter traffic as it is flat out on a country road.............................. In 1999 Porsche claimed a 0 to 60 time of 5.0 seconds with a quarter mile speed of 105 mph ............ and a TOP SPEED of 172 MPH! ................ This version of the venerable 911 is both easy to drive .......... and a world class performer at the same time. We are pleased to be selling this example that was manufactured in Stuttgart, Germany in March of 2000 and first sold in April as a 2000 model. The exterior is a mettalic Black and the Tan Interior really looks great with the black mettalic exterior and black canvas top. It has not been smoked in and has always been Adult driven and professionally maintained. The 996 has a different style ........... although it remained a 911 at first glance by anyone who saw it. It is about 7 inches longer and 1 inch wider than the earlier versions and is only 51.4 inches tall. The stereo system with 6 disc cd changer sounds great and all of the controls are within easy reach of the driver ......... and the 5 Gauge cluster in the center remains familar to anyone who ever had the privelage to drive or own a 911. I see a lot of similar Carrera's being sold today with prices from $27,500.oo all the way up to $32,000.00 or higher ............ but rarely have I seen one as complete as this one. Great color combination, solid mechanically and always kept in a climate controlled building when not in use. This is a NO EXCUSES Porsche that you will be happy you reached for. Do not make the mistake of paying less for another car ............. only to need to spend more after you get the car. You will not be dissapointed with this Porsche.
