Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1961 Studebaker Hawk which I have owned since 1998. Restoration was completed in 2005. The body was taken off the frame & the frame blasted & painted. The glass was all removed & the body was then painted & new window rubber was installed. The paint is VERY smooth & I am not aware of any scratches. The car was originally black but I had it painted the light blue that was an option that year. The interior was an NOS set installed during this restoration along with a new headliner & visors. The dash & window frames were also painted when the body was done. New floor & trunk pans were installed. A new wiring harness was installed while the car was apart. New shocks & front springs also. The original 289 engine was rebuilt & has just a few thousand miles on it. It holds the oil pressure steady around 40 psi. The 4 barrel carberator was rebuilt & the engine was painted the original colors. An alternator & electronic ignition were added at that time. The original 4 spd transmission was not rebuilt but functions beautifully. The brakes were totally redone with new parts, including NOS finned brake drums & new stainless brake lines & they too have just a few thousand miles. There is also a "Hillholder".Dual stainless steel exhaust was installed as were new Coker Classis Radial wide while wall tires on new Ford wheels. The car has the following options: Hill holder, 4spd transmission, electric wipers, tinted glass, reclining bucket seats, radio with crank up antenna, & VERY NICE original wheelcovers. It also has factory power steering which works very well. I installed the front seat belts after the restoration. What are the weak spots? The car shows VERY nicely but to be a national show winner it would need the following: Some but not all of the bright metal parts on the interior need redone or replaced. The carpet needs attention or replaced. The radio does NOT work & needs restored or replaced. There is 1 small bubbled area on the front bumper. It is not easily seen but it is there as are some small hard bumps at the bottom edge of the trunk lid, (also not easily seen). The chromed pot metal at the belt line on the doors just below the window glass are showing signs of stating to bubble. With those improvements made & some detailing done this car would compete nicely anywhere. I have kept it in heated storage since the work was completed & it has been covered by a new custom fit California Car Cover which goes to the new owner with the car.I have 2 other Studebakers which I have had for just 2 years & something needs to go.
