I've been using this as my daily driver for over 2 years with little trouble.2.0L 4 cylinder VW pancake motor, 4 speed manual transmission (easy to learn for drivers new to stick).New clutch & front struts were replaced last year.Since the start of the project including cost of full bus, chop job, body work, and minor repair work I’ve put over $13K into this. Please, no low ballers. Pluses:- can do GREAT wheelies easily but only when YOU want to (have to pop the clutch)- great turning radius (can do a U turn in a 1 way street)- easy to find parking (smaller than most compact cars)- great on gas- comfortably fits 4 (5 or more gets a little snug but I’ve done it plenty)- great for hauling stuff (back seat folds flat to load up the back)- everyone will love you! (from the old hag to the drooling brat, hipsters, gangsters, everyone)- out of the dozen + vintage cars that I’ve owned this is the most fun to drive- because of all the weight taken out of it from shortening it this bus will comfortably do well over the legal speed limit!- Includes extra parts (such as head light, tail light, seat belt, triangle window, break pads, and more), a custom made wooden storage bin, and countless other goodies.- Honestly, I can keep going with how great this car is. Minuses:- Minor surface rust visible beneath back window.- No headliner…its not a show car- You’re going to want to do wheelies and you can get a ticket for it- People are going to want to talk to you about your car even if you don’t feel like it- Like all air cooled VWs, it can and will over heat if you push it too hard in the heat (easily avoidable if when you stop for gas you let it rest for a little)- No AC and the heat is weak I love cars and normally go through them at least once a year just to change things up. This is the longest I’ve ever had a car because it’s just too damn fun driving it. That is the only reason why I’m selling it.
