A Driveable Car Starting At .99 With NO RESERVE! *Edit: according to eBay's autocheck, this car may have many more miles on everything but the motor and transmission than the odometer reads and that I knew about. Please click the "Free History Report" tab above.* 1996 Infiniti I30-5 Speed 3.0 V6Mechanically same as a Nissan Maxima!Newer model engine and transmission! Clear Title-Never Wrecked See Pictures Here I've sold a personal car here before-check feedback! About Car: For those that don't know, the Infiniti I30s are mechanical clones to the Nissan Maximas. The only difference is styling and some sound deadening as far as I know. I've had the car about a year, but quit driving it a few months ago. Now it seems to run and drive fine, but when I was driving it a few months ago, the transmission was making very loud grinding noises when accelerating and was hard to put in some gears or. I believe it even got to the point where I couldn't start it in most gears without it dying. I had a complete clutch kit put in it before this happened, ($300 parts and $300 labor) so that's not it. However, it drives so fine now that I could get away without mentioning it if I wanted to be less than honest. When it first done it, I called a mechanic and he thought it needed rebuilt. The car's now acting like nothing ever happened no matter how much I drive it. I was told by a mechanic that was doing minor work on it that it had a newer model engine and transmission. I did not know this when I bought it. A newer model means that it has a 222 HP engine instead of the stock 190! Repairs that've been done:New used starter $200New front axle and other front suspension work (no more uneven tire wear) $5002 New Goodyear 60k mile tires: $160+New temperature sensor $50Oil leak repair (I believe oil pan gasket)Push button iginition (wiring problem in steering column-have to use push button usually) $10Complete clutch kit w/installation $600AlignmentNew rear struts (previous owner)New Serpentine belt at 90k miles? (previous owner)I believe a new brake master cylinder from previous owner, toPrevious owner installed leather seats. Back ones look like they've barely been used. Front passenger is in good shape but just needs a bit of cleaning. Driver's side is a bit rough, but it's the most comfortable car seat I've ever sat in. Current Problems:Possible transmission. See Above.Sometimes, there's some hesitation while accelerating. Nothing dangerous...just annoying. Previous owner said the EGR valve needed cleaning. I believe it's that or some other similar problem...never looked into it. I haven't noticed it while driving it recently...the car seems to be healing with rest lolCheck engine light is on. Autozone said it was a knock sensor and some oxygen sensors. Doesn't affect MPG.Hard to start when cold...it always starts, but you've got to pump the gas to rev it when it's cold. I believe it's a sensor, possibly the knock sensor seen above. It starts fine when warm and always runs fine once started.Obviously, the back left door is black. The previous owner claimed a rock went through the windshield and it was significantly cheaper to just buy a $40 junk yard door.Front struts need replacing...makes creaking noise when turning. You can live with it if needed, though.Back left brakes are rubbing...need pad replacement most likely. I have two extra brake pads with it.2 Tires are pretty low on tread. Not bald, but low.Only one Bose speaker works, a very common problem with Bose.Cassette player has cassette stuck.Car needs jump starting every other day. The battery will probably hold a charge if I took it to Autozone, which I will do and see about before the auction is over. Wasn't a problem until I let it set.Car antenna is broke off...still picks up as good as most cars of that era.Back right power window/locks don't work. All others do perfectly.Back right seat belt is disconnected.Interior/exterior condition-the pictures can describe it better than I can. The black doorFront left fender's clear coat is pealing. It's not bad anywhere else.Needs shampooing/detailing, but is not really nasty like some cars. No bad interior smells. It had a bad oil leak problem that has been fixed. However, occasionally it'll still smell like burning oil due to oil residue left on it. Hydraulics on hood don't work. The Infiniti comes with a complementary stake that works perfectly.Good:Newer engine/transmission...I believe to have 222 HP when tuned!Working a/c and heat-a/c held charge this summer and is VERY simple to charge yourselfRARE 5 Speed (only 2.5% of I30s have this!)Nissan's famous 3.0 V6 "VQ" engine-one of the best ever made! Made in JapanFun to drive-TONS of torque!HID headlights-only dim, though. Still plenty bright.Lower mileageAM/FM/CD PlayerAside from the possible transmission, a couple of brake pads, and 2 new/used tires soon, you can continue to drive as-is. I was, every day.No shaking at any speed-VERY smooth car with great FWD handling!Tinted windows-within legal limits.Car security alarm I've listed everything I can currently think of. Most of this stuff, especially the transmission issue, I could be like a shady car lot and not tell you about, while you being none the wiser since it's only an occasional problem. After reading this and examining pictures, feel free to ask many any questions! You have 10 days to pick it up and pay with cash after auction is over!On Oct-03-11 at 11:41:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I got a very consistent 23 MPG under any driving conditions I threw at it. I'll be taking some pictures of the engine and such. The camera I was using randomly quit working while I was taking the pictures I currently have up. It does not leak or burn oil anymore to my knowledge. It has never smoked. The car also runs quietly. On Oct-04-11 at 21:39:53 PDT, seller added the following information: New transmission info:I believe the problem with the transmission may be that there was a broken piece that was floating around in it and jamming up the gears. Once I quit driving it, it settled to the bottom in the muck of gear oil. It may just need a transmission flush to be fixed, but that is no guarantee. The battery now seems to be holding a good charge for several days. Just to emphasize, the car can take several tries to start while pumping the gas when it hasn't been started for several hours. After that, it's fine. I have described the car the best I could, but buyers are free to come by and test drive it to judge for themselves BEFORE the end of the auction. On Oct-04-11 at 21:58:17 PDT, seller added the following information: I'm pretty sure that the HID (dim) headlights are just a cheap conversion kit. It was with it when I bought the car; I know nothing about custom headlights myself.
