Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a very, very nice 1969 American Motors Rambler 440 4-door sedan with the dependable and economical 232 6-cyklinder engine and easy-to-use automatic transmission. This little Rambler has but 77,985 miles on it and is in remarkable condition for its age, obviously having been very well-taken care of from new. It's been in storage for a while in Ohio and Indiana, now it's in the little town of Big Lake, MN. It starts right up (new battery) and runs well. The body is in exceptional condition - what appears to be the original paint is still shiny and very attractive with the white top over the yellow lower portion of the car. There is no rust, even on the underside (see picture)! The quarters, floor pan, rockers, inner panels and trunk floor are all like new. The trunk even has what appears to be the original spare tire in unused condition, mounted over the jack as it should be (see picture). It has tinted glass that's in excellent condition, all windows roll up and down nicely. I don't see any areas of the body that have ever been touched up! There are a few minimal dings and scratches, hardly noticeable and much less than one would expect from a 42 year old car! There is a mild crease in the driver's side rear quarter panel on the lower portion, right in front of the rear bumper (see picture). Tires are in good tread condition but probably are older. This car even has the original owner's manual in the glove box! The car also has a new exhaust system! The interior is just plain beautiful - a rich emerald green combination of vinyl and cloth (see picture). It's in excellent, and WAY above average condition too! The attractive padded dash is perfect, the steering wheel is very nice, the carpet isn't stained, the seat belts are even clean, the gauges all look like new - the headliner is cleaned and untarnished - it's like a new car inside! It even has an accessory tissue dispenser beneath the glove box. I don't think the ash tray has ever been used either! The entire car is like a time capsule that's just been opened, awaiting the appreciating owner that can use it in good weather for cruising to the malt shop, car shows and even serving duty as a "grocer getter". I am selling this car for my nephew, he has too many cars in his collection right now and no time for down-sizing. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll forward them to him. We would be very happy to make an appointment to see this car and encourage any bidder to do so that is able to. Car can be stored inside for a few weeks after the auction until shipping is arranged. Shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the new owner but I can make a recommendation of a local hauler if so desired.
