Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a very nice example of a GMC 1500 custom fleetside pickup truck that I've owned for the past 2 years. This is only the second thing I've ever sold on Ebay so I'll do my best with the description. It is not a matching numbers vehicle first of all. It has a rebuilt 327 V8 motor from a '67 Camaro that runs very well. The dealer I bought the truck from told me the engine was rebuilt (no documents to prove it) and the truck guy up the street looked up the numbers to tell me that it came from a '67 Camaro. It originally came with a 3 speed manual shift on the column but it was converted to a TH350 automatic on the floor(B&M shifter) which shifts very smoothly. The truck had the original gas tank which was rusty inside, therefore it didn't run very well when I first got it but I went ahead and installed a new tank, new fuel lines, fuel filter, fuel pump and had the 2 barrel Rochester carburetor sent out for refurbishing and then topped it off with a chrome Spectre air cleaner....now it runs nicely. The truck has been upgraded with an HEI distributor, wires and header plugs. It's kind of funny that the rustiest thing on the truck are the headers that I had put on about 2 years ago. I cheaped out and went for the ones with the black paint that blows off once they heat up...regretting that now of course...should've went with the ceramic ones. It also has 2 new mufflers and stainless tips that jut out of both sides nicely. Speaking of rust, it really is amazing to me as to the lack of it. You truly have to search and then I don't know that you'll find anything beyond a touch of surface rust. The frame, wheel wells, etc are in surprising shape. The paint on the truck is the original paint I believe. It's not showroom condition but the truck always gets compliments every time I take it somewhere. It has the occasional light scratches and tiny spots where someone took a touch up brush to it. There is one small indent by the front left headlight I will say. I was meaning to have the bed of the truck resprayed and maybe put a bed cover on it but haven't done that, obviously. So much to say....I converted to the modern spin on oil filter kit which will make the next owner very happy. The truck comes with its original jack and owners manual. The tires have great tread but are not new. I wasn't the one that put those monsters on the rear but they do look neat. The rims/wheels have a tiny bit of flaking but overall look very nice. I really like the fact that someone replaced the rear glass with a sliding window...nice addition. This truck does not have power steering or brakes but I haven't minded so much unless I'm trying to park it in a full lot...broke a sweat doing it at the car show a few weeks ago. Under the hood is pretty clean, not showroom condition but very far from some I've seen. The inside of the truck is VERY nice! The bench seat is looking good with minimal wear. The rubber floor looks original I'm sure but in pretty good shape. I was going to switch to carpet but changed my mind. The dash pad is curled at both ends a little bit but thats minor. The glove box is in good shape but could use a light in it. The tach works....temp gauge someone put in works, speedometer always seems to read 5mph faster...prob cause of the large rear tires and the incorrect speedo gear(my guess)...the heater functions well...no a/c...gas gauge works fine but the darn radio doesn't turn on. I haven't had anyone check it out. My dad keeps saying that maybe the antennae isn't plugged in...??...no clue. The wipers work and I did put in a new motor but the darn washer doesn't squirt for some reason. There is a little bit of tinkering like those things. It passed inspection no problem in October. Needless to say, it gets stored winters. The battery is less than 2 years old. Hmm...I've never had the brakes looked at, or the wheels off for that matter but they function normally without noise so I assume they're fine. No major leaking that I'm aware of except it seeps a little tranny fluid from where the speedo cable attaches. I've been meaning to take it to a shop to have that investigated but have not. It doesn't sound like it would be a major fix though. There are a couple of things like I've mentinoned to tinker with but you will not be dissapointed with the truck at all, I'm sure. The reason for selling is basically because I'm going to use the money to get a Jeep CJ....period. The shipping of course will have to be up to you to work out. I'm very new at this selling of cars and I do have a small balence left to pay on this truck. I talked to the bank today to get a better feel of how things need to go. They recommended either a bank check(no money orders), wire transfer of funds or of course cash, but thats highly doubtful...haha. They said 5-7 days for the bank check to clear and then 10 days to receive the title. I guarantee I'll do whatever I need to do on my end of things to make it all happen smoothly. Thanks for taking the time in reading and she really is a nice truck that needs minimal things. Have a good day.
