Mileage: 60126 Vin #: 237077p324441 Body Plate: 07 2 67-23707 PON 4003 BODY 220 B K-1 PAINT E 2KUG 5Y 1W2D Originally- Gulf Turquoise with Ivory Top and Turquiose Interior. Also originally had AC. This is a very complete Florida car. This car is an excellent driver and looks good as it is cruising down the road. If you just want a nice-looking daily driver, very little would need to be done. A lot of the car could be kept if you wanted to turn it into a parade car or GTO clone as well. The choice is yours. I am moving soon and need to sell this car fast otherwise I would list it much higher and advertise it more on other sites- my loss is your gain. I was told I am just the third owner of this car. The first owner was a school teacher who bought it new and had it for around thirty years. She took very good care of it and had it in a garage, then she sold it to the next owner. He had a lot of work done on it, but did not have a garage for it and let it sit outside for at least two years. I purchased the vehicle in 2008 and shipped it to Illinois. I have over $8200 invested into this car- this only includes purchases to improve the car (i.e. no insurance, storage, etc). The vehicle comes with some new parts (an antenna, rear-view mirror, some rubber, hood insulation, side-mirror gasket, headliner-molding, top-windshield molding, wipers, and a transmission filter) and a lot of parts that I received with the car (I was told the complete, original ac system but the compressor is not there, an extra water pump, water-pump housing, pulley, and gasket, brake pads, brake parts, a jack, and nice lower and side windshield moldings). Engine: The engine originally was a 326 which was replaced by the previous owner about seven years ago. It now has a rebuilt 350, which was given a major tune-up last year. It runs well and can put down some power. It starts up easily except, sometimes, after you get it warmed up and turn it off. I think the starter solenoid may need to be replaced though the records from the previous owner shows it was already replaced. Like I mentioned before, the car originally had ac. The evaporator/drier is still hooked up in the car along with some of the tubing. I am not sure what else in the engine compartment is part of the ac system so I took close-up shots so you could see for yourself. I do not have the compressor. Transmission/Chassis: The transmission is the original 2 speed automatic, super-turbine 300. It does leak tranny fluid despite the fact that I had the transmission gasket replaced earlier this year. The wheels were painted with the car and look good but are starting to get a little surface rust in spots. The tires are newer and hardly have any mileage on them. I replaced the rear springs and shocks last year. One thing that I have noticed is that when going sharply around corners there is some vibration. So, the bearings may need to be replaced. Exterior: I believe the car was painted about seven years ago along with all the other work that was done. The car looks good at twenty or thirty feet. Unfortunately, the owner skimped on the paint job. They did not prep the car properly so there is some chipping in various places throughout the car, most notably a spot near the antenna, on the rear quarter panel in front of the wheel, and in the middle of the trunk. There is also crows feet on the front right fender. I have touched these all up as best I could. This car does have some rust. There is a bubble on the left front fender, bubbling along the rear window molding, the drivers and passengers floor pans have small rust-holes in them, the right front fender has rust under the hood, the trunk has rust and would need to be patched or replaced if you are restoring the car, and the inner wheel wells have rust as well. The chrome is generally in good condition. I replaced most of the windshield molding when I replaced the windshield last month. The rest of the chrome is in ok to good condition. The front bumper and headlight bezel look great, while a couple pieces of the rear trim are missing and the rear bumper is not in great shape. The glass is in good shape. Like I said, the windshield is brand-new. The driver's window and right rear window do have a couple of scratches on them and the rear window looks a bit dirty even when it is clean. The rest of the windows have no problems. They all roll up and down nicely. During the previous auction it was brought to my attention that the front grill, bumper, right-hand fender, and nose are off a '66. I had never heard this before and am not a LeMans expert so I am not sure if this is true or not, but be advised. Interior: The interior is in overall decent shape. The seats were reupholstered around seven years ago and look good though some of the stitching is coming undone on the backs. There is a small cut and a tear (about four inches long) on the driver’s side front seat. You could replace the one panel and be ok if it matches. The rear seats are in good condition. The carpet is about seven years old but is faded from sitting in the sun at the previous owner’s house and has some staining on it. The headliner has three or four small holes in it above the driver's head. The dash and instrument panel look great with no warping or cracked glass though, it could use a little touch-up on the chrome accents. The heater doesn’t work but the AM radio does though it needs a new rear speaker. It has an original 8 track player mounted under the radio which I have no way to check. It also has a console that is in ok condition. Note: This is just an overview of the car. I simply cannot include every detail about it and am probably forgetting some problems/quirks along with work that has been done. Also, I am not a mechanic or a body man and am describing everything to the best of my knowledge. I have included a lot of pictures so you can see as much of the car as possible but, pictures only go so far. I would strongly encourage you to stop by for an appointment or at least call me (Jake) at 815-751-2792 before buying the vehicle. More pictures and info. available upon request. This vehicle is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction if the vehicle sells. Come and check it out! I will be available for appointments over the selling period. I am located just 55 miles straight west of Chicago (off of route 64- a.k.a. North Avenue) Contact me with any question you may have before you bid. By bidding on this item you are agreeing to a contract stating that you agree to my terms in this auction. Unless otherwise noted, item is sold as-is with no warranty. I have described this item to the best of my knowledge, however, if the buyer is not satisfied with the product or services provided I will take this into consideration and make a fair response.
