SEE VIDEO BELOW PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS This is my 1978 Jeep CJ7. My reserve is $1,900. It’s my only car and I drive it 7 days a week. At least 5 days a week 30 miles a day (mainly highway) to and from work. I’m going to drive it until it’s sold. I've had this car for a year and half and intended on restoring it but that’s not going to happen for a number of reasons. I believe its all original. I knew the previous owner who had it for about 2 years. He used it for around the town driving with occasional trailing riding. The odometer stopped working about 2 years ago when my friend had it. The actual mileage is around 85K. The engine is well maintained for a 33 year old car. It revs smoothly and idles nicely. Cap, rotor, wires, air filter, plugs replaced last year. The 3 speed transmission and transfer case both work well although shows signs of age. The front locking hubs work. I’ve gotten the car to 70mph and the RPM’s are still below 3,000. The (31 x 10.5) tires have a lot of tread on them but the front left has a slow leak that I haven’t bothered to look for or repair. The lights are HID’s and shine very bright. The light bar works but shares the same fuse as the heater so they can’t be on at the same time. The power steering works well and the front disc brakes work great but are not powered. The body tub is in rough shape. There are sheets of aluminum covering the body which makes it look nicer than it is. The frame is in good shape and only covered by surface rust with the exception of a couple cross members under the rear body tub. The rear floor is solid but there are a number of other parts on the tub that need to be repaired. The windshield, front fenders, grille, and hood were replaced about five years ago. The turn signals work but the speedometer doesn’t. The driver’s seat belt mount is rusted out. The suspension is lifted to 4 inches I believe because there were 35” tires on it before. VIDEO of the Jeep driving http://youtu.be/tDAzFkBW4bQ VIDEO of the engine running http://youtu.be/-Jzs2jWLxuY Overall this car is in good shape for something that’s 33 years old. It’s not anywhere near restored but just maintained to run all the time. It takes a few minutes to warm up but easily handles the cold and hot temps of NJ. I encourage anyone that’s serious about it to come drive it if you’re close to NJ. If you have any questions please email me at pilotajf@yahoo.com and I’ll do my best to answer them quickly. I can assist with shipping if you can’t arrange to drive it home.
