Vehicle Detail

The last deal did not go through so I am re-listing my 1940 Dodge Special Coupe, "MOONSHINNER SPECIAL" the one with one full seat and a large package shelf and a small pass through door behind the passenger seat back and a large trunk. This car has never been cut or modified mechanically. This car was put on blocks outside in 1976 with its complete front clip and rear fenders removed and stored inside until in was offered for sale in1994 when I bought it. The restoration has been ongoing since then and is well along. Many things have been done and many more need to be done. The car was repainted a two stage base coat/clear coat in "Mica Red", this paint has Gold power specks in it (original color was tan with one same color repaint over that by a previous owner). Interior redone in a Tan material as close to original as I could get, the headliner was not done and is not installed although I have the original for a pattern. All new door rubber seals are installed and new windshield, rear window and rear quarter window rubber seals are installed. The passenger door window is cracked. Dash and window trim were repainted wood-grain by me. This is a complete car with some parts in boxes. The bumpers and overrides have been re-chrome, all other chrome and trim pieces are present and serviceable as is, need to be redone. Minor rust on undebody where the running boards bolts attach to car still exist (running boards need restored and reinstalled using new bolt locations and you would not see it). The engine has the head off and some valve work has been started (the valve guides need replaced). I have all engine parts included. The transmission and clutch condition is unknown although it does shift into all gears. The gas tank was cleaned and glass lined and installed. Many new parts are included but not installed; brake lines, brake shoes, brake cylinder kits, exhaust pipe, muffler. The car has a tube type push button radio and an original "palm" spinner on the steering wheel. I have a clear Virgina Title in my name. The cars mileage is documented back to 1969 and its history is known back to its early days in Clifton Forge VA. This is a nice survivor that is 70 years old and will be a great car for someone that wants one like they use to be made, or it would make a great street rod. This car does not run and has not been on the road since 1976. It is a "roller" and must be trailered and tied down as it's have been disassembled brakes are not installed although the emergency brake does work. Buyer is required to provide shipping or pick up car locally using their transporter. Seller is not responsible for any shipping cost. NOTE: The car is in a garage with a sloping drive way and must be loaded onto a trailer or rollback type car hauler, it can not be picked up by a commercial type car hauler from the curb. Buyer required to deposit $500.00 into seller PAYPAL account immediately and the balance is due within 5 days in CASH or CERTIFIED FUNDS to seller. Pick up of car needs to be completed within 5 days also.
