Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 2001 Honda VFR 800. It am the original owner of this great bike, which I bought new from a Honda dealer in Baltimore. The bike has only 17500 miles, mostly highway miles. This bike is made for touring, and I rode it from Delaware to California and then to Florida. To make the trip more comfortable I equipped it with a Corbin seat, which is about a million times more comfortable than the foam bench that came standard. The bike is also equipped with locking Givi Hard cases. I also added a Zero Gravity tinted windscreen. The bike has been recently serviced at the local Honda dealer AND a local japanese-bike specialist, who sold me a brand new “used” front tire that has less then 150 miles on it. This bike is tagged in the state of Florida, expiration 4/12. The bike runs perfectly, as far as I can tell, but there are some things it’s new owner needs to know: I had a low-speed fall on this bike. The bike sustained minor cosmetic damage, mostly scuffing and a small crack on the left side fairing. The Givi bags took the majority of the impact. One of the side cases has a crack, but is perfectly usable, the other side case is only scuffed. The top case was broken broke off completely. It is still usable, but will require a new Givi rack. The right side mirror also broke off. There are also 3 or 4 pieces of hardware missing from the bike; but nothing major. I believe the Honda dealer is responsible for the missing hardware - you really have to watch those guys... Instead of repairing the fairing, I took the insurance money and used it for a Two-Brothers slip on and a Power Commander. The improvement in performance is noticeable. However, at the moment the Power Commander is disconnected and I don’t know if it works or not. I recommend the buyer look into this problem. The bike runs just fine without it, but it is much nicer with it. I love this bike, but I have to sell it. It has been completely reliable and totally fun. Whoever buys this bike will be very satisfied. The buyer will be responsible for shipping.
