Vehicle Detail

Oldsmobile ranked just below the Cadillac in GM's lineup. It's only real competition in its price range was GM's Buick. This offering is a wonderful example of '30s style and quality. It was purchased locally and has remained here (Spokane, WA) ever since (has original dealer emblem on trunk lid). From ten feet the Olds almost looks like a freshly restored car. Although approximately 10 years old, the paint is in excellent condition. There are minor chips as you would expect from a daily driver, but it shines up exceptionally well (see photos). The body is very straight with absolutely no signs of rust. This is a very fun car to drive. Beyond driving easy, you can be proud to be seen in it. This car has been garaged for at least the last 15 years. Previous owners (I know of two) have maintained it very well. There is NO rust anywhere. The body is straight as it can be. It has been reupholstered with period material. The rear window curtain re-tracks properly. The driver's seat is showing the wear of lots of use. This is a quality daily driver. All gauges work as they should. The dash looks immaculate. The steering wheel has no cracks or chipping. The chrome and stainless are in very good condition. No pitting to speak of, and the bumpers had been re-plated. The engine wasn't rebuilt but doesn't need to be. It starts easy and drives strong. I did re-core the radiator under the mistaken belief it needed it. The problem turned out to be a hot day of idling waiting for the parade to start. I drive I-90 at 70 MPH with no complaints from the Olds. Braking is firm with no pulls, left or right, or noises. The only thing it needs is new weatherstripping around the doors and truck, and I'll probably have that done before the end of the auction. Reserve is set to sell this car. Why I'm selling: I have 19 cars, and it costs me about $1,100 each month to store them all. I have found that I drive 4 or 5 of them regularly during the summer, so am getting rid of the rest. That and I just bought a 1923 Cleveland 4 dr sedan that I want to restore.
