Vehicle Detail

1985 CJ7 frame off restoration with 6500 miles -- restoration was complete in 2008, the previous owner and the one who did the restore put 2500 miles on over a couple of years and I have put 4000 on over the past year. Rebuilt 4.2 liter AMC Howell fuel injection Tremec T176 manual 4 speed and Dana 300 transfer case Rebuilt front and rear differential geared to match oversized tires The motor is strong and the transmission shifts properly as does 4x4. The body is in superior shape with only a couple of slight nicks on the paint. Fiberglass tub which is lined and has proper holes for drainage. The hood and tailgate are steel. The paint was done in 2007 and looks great. The Jeep has Dick Cepek FC-II 33" tires that have 4000 miles and Mickey Thompson wheels. The Warn locking hubs work perfectly. Catback stainless steel exhaust New bushings and Ranchero 5000 shocks. The suspension has a 2.5" lift. All gauges work except for fuel gauge. Warn 9500 winch with Bullbars. Smittybilt Nerf Bars KC HiLites Circulating engine heater (not a cheap block heater, but one that circulates heat through the radiator fluid -- supremely effective in the winter) Wiring was done by an electrical engineer JVC stereo/CD/MP3 with good pioneer speakers in front dash. The rear speakers are 6x9 in custom boxes, but they should be replaced with something more substantial Best Top top, soft doors and bikini. Also comes with RainGear trail cover The frame and the transmission were not replaced/rebuilt with the latest restoration but both are solid and very strong. . The only things wrong with the Jeep are: The wipers work but they will stop on occasion. They will continue again, but they do stop for a couple of seconds occasionally. I suppose it is the linkage, but it hasn't been enough of a problem to fix.The cables for the heat and defrost do not work. The knobs are there and look very nice, but the cable they make these days are not durable. Thus, you have to reach down and adjust the heat/def. The transmission has a sequence issue going into second. If you rev out first gear (which shouldn't be done anyway) then you may have to wait a split second to go into second. However, if you just use first to get up to 10MPH, the sequence matches up every time and you go right into second. I don't consider this an issue so long as you shift as intended, but wanted to disclose (I fix everything as it needs to be done, but my mechanic said not to worry about it since the trans is sound otherwise.)
