I bought this car from the local new car dealership where it traded in. It will turn on, drive, and run. However, our mechanic has told us that it has a bad rod and does not recommend driving the car. They believe this car is rebuild able, as long as there is not too much damage to the crank. They cannot be totally sure until they begin to take the motor apart. The rebuild kit is about $150. Our shop also priced out a total engine replacement, and found several motors for $350-$450 with about 60,000 miles. We decided to sell this car as is, as a mechanic special. Our mechanic said this is a relatively easy car to work on and would be a great candidate for a shade tree mechanic. So, this car is a great opportunity for someone who a great value, mechanic special! Any use of the key will be under supervision since I will not allow you to rev this engine because it could cuase further damage to the engine. I have driven it for about 10 miles and found the transmission to shift smoothly, the cruise control to work, the ac is ice cold, and all power options seem to work. This is a TRUE AUCTION! When we purchased this Dodge Neon and had a VA state safety inspection performed, it passed and is valid until 09-2012. Exterior: The Exterior color of this 2004 Dodge Neon SXT Sedan is a Bright Red. The bumpers are painted to match the red body color. The door handles are also painted red. This creates a very nice look of consistency. This car is riding on a very nice looking set of alloy wheels. The wheels are in great condition with just a little light, usual wear. The tires look to be in very good condition, like new. As you can see in the pictures, this 2004 Dodge Neon SXT a few exterior cosmetic flaws. I notice there is a dent on the rear passenger side door, there is some paint scuff on bottom of the front spoiler/bumper. I am sure there is some other, less noteworthy wear such as door dings or minor scuffs. Please review the pictures. We opted to keep the price low and not invest in fixing these issues. Interior: The interior of this Neon is in better condition than the exterior. The upholstery is light gray sport cloth. This tends to hold up better than the leather/vinyl. The seats are in good condition consistent with the year and mileage. There is some very light staining that I noticed, other wise there are no tears or rips. Each of the front seats are bucket style with headrests. They are both multi adjustable for your comfort. The rear seat is bench style and will fold down in two separate sections to create more cargo room in the trunk. The Driver side door has the Power options including Power windows and Power door locks. There is also a storage bin on the lower part of each front door. There is a remote key fob with keyless entry that works. Just to the left of the steering wheel you will see the side view mirror controls. The cruise controls are on the right of the steering column. The center console houses the Audio system, which includes an in dash cd player and AM FM tuner. There are also the climate control. Just below you will find a storage area. Below you will find another cubby with coin storage. There are 3 front cup holders. There is a lighter element just above the gear shifter good for charging cell phones or other electronics. Also, located conveniently between the Auto Transmission gear shifter and the dash are 3 built in cup holders. Between the seats are the Shifter and Emergency Brake. The armrest opens up for deep storage and another cup holder.
