Vehicle Detail

1996 Dodge 3500 Dually 1 Ton 4 x 4 truck with Cummins Diesel 12 valve engine and automatic transmission. This truck has been converted to run on Straight Waste Vegetable Oil (SVO or WVO) by Green Circle Biofuels, using Golden Fuel Systems components. It has 212,xxx miles on it. The body is in good condition. The interior looks good except for two minor cracks in the dash, and a worn place on the driver’s seat (in photo). This truck starts and runs great. The transmission will slip a bit in first gear until warm if you “romp on it.” Once it is warm and you are going it is OK. I had it checked by a transmission shop, which told me it would eventually need transmission work, but would be good for probably a lot of miles until necessary. A couple of weeks ago I pulled a 7,000 boat out of a lake on a steep ramp without any problem. 4 wheel drive works fine. It has a class III hitch and a 5th wheel hitch connection in the bed. There is a plastic bed liner. The four rear tires are very good. The front tires are fair but don't match. There is an AM/FM/Cassette radio, power windows, and the AC works great. The SVO system consists of a 20 gallon polyethelene “Trekker” tank in the bed from Golden Fuel Systems, with a Racor 1000 fuel filter attached. There is a switching valve under the truck connected to a switch on the dash allowing you to switch back and forth from the standard diesel tank to the auxiliary tank. The vegetable oil is heated by an engine coolant heat exchanger in the tank. There is a fuel gauge for the auxiliary tank and a vacuum gauge mounted on the left side pillar (see photo). The vacuum gauge is used to determine when you need to change the element in the Racor filter. These are changed about every 1,500 to 3,000 miles, depending on how clean your vegetable oil is before you put it in the tank, and cost about $10 to $12 each. Normally, you start in the morning on diesel, and as soon as the truck is up to temperature you switch over to vegetable oil. I have driven this truck over 30,000 miles on free fuel I have collected from restaurants. This is not biodiesel, it is just the oil from restaurant deep fryers, properly filtered and put in the auxiliary tank. The 12 valve Cummins runs great on it, and the exhaust smells like french fries! I am selling because I don’t need or want a dually anymore. I might consider a partial trade for a smaller diesel truck. I can help set you up with your own vegetable oil filtering system and show you how to save thousands on fuel like I have. This truck is also for sale locally, so the auction may be ended at any time. Buyer must send a $500.00 deposit by PayPal upon auction end. Remaining funds must be sent by certified funds within 72 hours of auction end. I reserve the right to delete any bids by buyers with very low or negative feedback ratings. No International sales. If you “Buy it Now”, I would consider delivering it to you within a reasonable distance if there are decent air connections to Little Rock. Prepayment and previous approval required to do this.
