Vehicle Detail
1940 Dodge Special Coupe, "MOONSHINNER SPECIAL" the one with one full seat and a pass through door behind the passenger seat back. Near original -- it has never been cut or modified mechanically. I have had this car since 1995, restoration has been ongoing and is well along, many things have been done and many more need to be done. Minor rust on under body where body and running boards touch still exist (running boards could be restored and reinstalled and you would not see it). The car was repainted in Mica Red two stage (original color was kackie). Interior redone in a Tan tweed material as close to original as I could get, the headliner is not installed although I have the original for a pattern and the pass door window is cracked. Dash and window trim were repainted wood-grain by me. This is a complete car with some parts in boxes. The bumpers and overrides have been re-chromed but all other chrome needs to be redone although serviceable as is. The engine has the head off and some valve work has been started (the valve guides need replaced). I have all engine parts included. The transmission and clutch condition is unknown although it does shift into all gears. The gas tank was cleaned and glass lined from Bill Hursh and installed. Many new parts are included but not installed; brake lines, brake shoes, brake cyl kits, exhaust pipe, muffler. The car has a tube type push button radio and an original "plam" spinner on the steering wheel (Extra steering wheel, gear shift arm and knob, shaft and gear box, rusty front & rear bumper & rear bumper apron plus miscellaneous extra parts included). This car has a Virgina Title and I know its history back to its early days in Clifton Forge VA. This car does not run and has not been on the road since 1976. It is a "roller" and must be trailered and tied down as it's brakes are not installed. This is a nice survivor that is 70 years old (like me) and will be a great car for someone that wants one like they use to be made, or it would make a great street rod if one was inclined to CUT IT : -( You get the idea, its time for somebody to take over. Buyer is required to provide shipping or picking up car using their trailer. Seller is not responsible for any shipping cost. NOTE Car is in a garage with a sloping drive way and a sloping street so it can not be picked up by a commercial type hauler from the curb. Buyer required to deposit $500.00 into seller PAYPAL account with in 24 hours of winning bid and the balance is due within 7 days in CASH or CERTIFIED FUNDS to seller.
