Vehicle Detail
skateoldies Store I have a 1961 MGA convertible for sale. I can't seem to make the time to get to this project, so someone else must do it justice. VIN numberGHNL/91874, engine number 16GA-U 22267. It is a very solid, straight restoration project. The previous owner had this car since 1966. He drove it untill 1977 and parked in inside of his garage where it has sat until now.. The beauty of this car is it's so solid and straight for a 50 year old car. The rockers, frame, fenders are all solid. The trunk floor has surface rust, no rust through. The area near the heater blower(firewall shelf), has surface rust, no rust through. There is one tiny hole just under where the hood fits(see close-up) and one of the two battery holders is rusty. Both easy fixes. There are no dents, two tiny dings, one on the door and one behind the driver seat(see close-ups), more easy pie fixes. Those may even push out by hand, was afraid to try. The doors shut nice and solid, the gaps look good. No cracks in windshield. Some of the chrome was taken off to get ready for paint, it looks like it's all there, check the pictures. The top frame is in nice shape, with minor surface rust, will need new canvas. It was running at the time when parked, but that was 34 years ago. It will need mechanical restoration, all the things associated with a car sitting for an extended amount of time. The engine is free, not frozen. And I also checked to see if the carb slides still went up and down smooth and they do, not frozen in housing. The car looks mostly complete to me except the seats, hubcaps, jack, and the batteries were removed years ago. The previous owner told me it was green when he got it and he painted it white about 40 years ago. I have a dirty old shop manual that goes with it. I have tried to describe this car as well as I could and put in tons of pictures, so keep in mind it's 50 years old and never restored, so expect what you see in pictures. Clean Florida title, I will also give a bill of sale. Sold as is, with no warranty. If you are local and want to inspect it before bidding, I encourage that, just let me know. No whining afterwards. Deposit of $250 due within 2 days through Paypal, the balance in cash within 2 weeks. If you are out of state and need more time, let me know BEFORE you bid, maybe when can work something out. Buyer responsible for shipping costs and arranging shipping plans to pick up from my house. I reserve the right to end this auction for any reason. Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool.
