What i have for sale here is a 1996 Geo Metro with the fuel efficient 3cyl 1.0L engine and 5 speed manual transmission. This car runs, drives and rides beautifully for a Metro. Original MPG ratings on these cars were 44 in the city and 49 highway. I just finished taking it for a 30 mile drive and averaged 44.5 with it, not bad i think i could easily average over 50 once i got use to this car. I purchased this car 3yrs ago and have never registered it or driven it daily, i bought it back when gas went over $4 a gallon and have been waiting for fuel prices to get back there. I've spent plenty of time working on this car the last 3 years but i'd rather sell it now than store it for another winter. The pros: I've put alot of new parts in this car, the previous owner was rebuilding the motor which i finished up. Transmission came out of another Metro that shifts beautifully and has fresh Amsoil Severe Duty Gear Oil in it, the one that came with this car you could not downshift with. Car has new radiator, timing belt & tensioner, water pump, brakes, struts, spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires, pcv, air filter, fuel filter, heater core, catalytic conver, cat-back exhaust, oxygen sensors and a new clutch. The fuel tank had a leak and i had it sent out to be resealed. I was going to make this a hypermile car but didn't get far, all i got to do was lower the car by 1" for better aerodynamics and i had the stock cam reground to specs from an XFI Metro. Car has brand new P155/80R13 Kumho tires on it. Put some factory full wheel covers on it alltho i do have the original center caps that came with this car. Interior is in good condition, seats are good, drivers seat may have two tiny holes in the side. I completely repainted the dash and center console to better than new. I installed a new Pioneer CD player and speakers that also includes a plug for your IPOD soted in the glove box. The instrument cluster in the car is not the original one, i had to replace it as the speedometer no longer worked properly. I do still have the original cluster to show how many miles were on it. Front drivers carpet has some stains along with the carpet in the cargo area, i've tried cleaning the stains out but to no avail. Car does not have the rusted out lower control arm mounting locations that is associated with the cars, i've had the area undercoated to protect them. The rear wheelwells are also solid, i've seen some cars that had rotted out wheel arches. I also have undercoated the entire underside of the car. The cons: Car has the typical lower rocker panel rust, especially on the drivers side. These could be fixed with patch panels which i know the person who was selling these and has them still avail i can tell you how to reach him. Other small areas that are in the early stages of rust but are easily repairable are the right rear quarter panel, and small spots on the doors. The radiator support does have a couple surface area rust spots on it as well. The only other thing is the windshield which has scratches from the wipers, looks like they could be polished out they don't catch your fingernail over them. Car does have A/C but i've never tried to get it working, i was not worried about having A/C with a car like this. This car runs and drives almost like new just needs cosmetic fixing.
