You are bidding on an anthracite 2001 BMW with the sport's package. This vehicle has the 4.4 litre M62 engine with variable camshaft timing and electronic throttle, and is accordingly very quick and nimble on the interstate. It was originally a Florida car, and has no rust or has been in any serious accidents. The rear fender was replaced after it was scraped in a parking lot. The car is mechanically very sound, but does have the following issues: cosmetically the headliner is drooping at the rear (see picture), the plastic holding the seat control adjustments has separated from the seat, and the left fog lamp lens is cracked (see picture). After a long drive the car smokes for the first second after start up, and then is fine. In very warm weather there is a episodic rattle which disappears at speed and is not associated with the front suspension as it has been professionally checked. The check engine light extinguishes immediately at start up, but the anti-skid control light has remained on for the last three weeks. The tires were replaced 6000 miles ago, and the spare tire has not been used. I have been as been transparent as possible with all faults with this car, so the prospective buyer knows exactly what he/she is bidding on. All in all, this is a wonderful vehicle in good condition for it's mileage. These cars do require more maintenance than most, so please factor this into your decision since I would not want a buyer dissatisfied with their choice. Please feel free to contact me with questions.
