Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1963 Corvair Spyder, I have owned this ride since mid 1990's and she has been an on going rebuild, doing a little here and there. I drive her to and from work now and then and some weekend trips to the store, etc. All lights/turn signals/wipers/heater work, the radio is original but not working. She is a ton of fun to cruz around in on a sunny day, but we have a child now and I need something a tad more "family friendly" (meaning the wife wants air bags). In the 90's I had stripped the Corvair to bare metal, cut out the rusted stuff and welded in new metal in the fender and wheel wells, the only bondo in this whole vehicle is small spot on the fender near head lights that couldn't be pulled out. The prior owner had replaced the floor pan and trunk. Some of the small chrome pieces need to be redone or replaced, same for the review mirror (but it is not bad). I had a new top put on around 2003 and interior done around 2005, both are in excellent shape. However, the dash need to be replaced and the sun visors could use new covers or the some good sewing (the threads have come loose on the top side). The windshield was replaced a couple years ago and is in perfect conditions, tires are brand new (including spare). I have the "Spider" hub caps which are in perfect condition; I also have multi-piece wired hub caps (but they need to be sand blasted and re-chromed). She starts up every time, even if not ran in a couple weeks. The engine runs pretty smooth after warmed up and cruises down the freeway at 65-70mph with no issues and only around 3500-4000rpm. Overall this Corvair is in decent shape, but she is not ready for the "show", if you are looking for a show ready car this is not it, but she could be with some work. I strongly recommend you look her over before buying as I am selling this Corvair as is and where is, no warranty is implied or will be provided, no refunds will be given once financial transaction has been completed. I will deliver in San Diego County, but not outside of the County. However, I will help with transportation if needed, meaning I can be around to put her on the truck for you, but you need to schedule and pay for the transportation. I will be advertising locally and reserve the right to cancel this auction at anytime I desire if/when sold locally.
