Vehicle Detail

This is a very cool truck, it's a 1972 Chevrolet C-10 short wheelbase, step side 6' bed, basic pickup truck. It was purchased brand new a Ferman Chevrolet in Tampa on 5-16-72. It's been a Florida truck it's entire life. It has been sitting for some years and I will describe it to you exactly as it is. Exterior All original paint but it does have the normal rust in the places these trucks are prone to rust. Rocker panels, rear cab corners, a little in the doors (fixable) and some areas of the bedsides where wet leaves rested. The drip rails, floors, core support, cowl, and the fronts of the fenders are perfect. It also has a mint condiiton original 72 grill. The glass is decent, the tires are good and most of the lights work (burned bulbs). I don't think it ever had a rear bumper, if it did, it's missing. It has an incorrect mirror on the drivers door and the outer drivers door handle is broken. The weatherstripping is in need of replacement. A few of the boards in the bed are rotted out. Overall the exterior looks presentable and has great patina! Interior The original upholstery is torn on the drivers side. This is a basic truck so there's not much else to comment on. The gauges seem to work, it's a column shift truck which works perfectly. The rubber floor mat is in good condition. The jack equipment is inside the truck. It has an aftermarket vintage radio called a "TamAutoRadio" which was installed in the factory radio delete plate, I've never seen a radio like it before. The steering wheel is pretty rough and so is the dash pad, the door panels are savable, the visors are decent. The only options listed on the glove box door are "medium blue" and "heavy duty rear springs". Overall, the interior is functional but could use a cosmetic restore. Mechanical This truck starts up and runs like a top, the clutch and transmission seem to work well. It shifts easy. The manual disc brakes work well. It has a brand new battery. It needs a new thermostat housing, a tune up, and some preventative maintenance. This truck also has power steering, which seems to be pretty rare for a base model and it's not listed on the options list. It does work great. This is a very easy restore for someone in the market for a 72 shortbed. It could also be upgraded and modified to make a one of a kind truck. Or it could be restored to showroom new condition and be just as cool. The mileage was represented as original but I don't know for sure. I am offering this truck at no reserve. Please look at all of my photos and ask any questions you may have. I can be reached via phone at 941-720-0300, my name is Jason. I've personally done a ground up restoration on one of these trucks. I know what to look for, this one is right in all of the right places. Happy bidding!
