1991 Honda CBR

NO RESERVE!! Awesome project bike, cheap! This a 1991 Honda CBR600F2 with under 12.5k miles on the odometer. Bike is in good shape for its age, has some minor scuffs and rash as seen in pictures, nothing major. Has new battery and the tires don't have much use on them. Here's the bad: the fuel petcock is supposed to be vacuum actuated and will not release fuel without the engine running, but the diaphragm apparently ruptured, so unless the petcock was manually turned to the "off" position, it would release fuel to the carbs even without the engine running. To make a long story short, I ended up getting a large amount of fuel into the crankcase without realizing and rode the bike for a few miles and it started making a chattering/clacking/ticking noise from the top end. I believe the floats on 2 of the carbs were a little leaky allowing gas to flow into the cylinders, and eventually down into the crankcase since the bike had been sitting for a couple of weeks.The bike still fires right up and idles smooth, but any load on the motor and it starts making noise. Before this incident it ran absolutely amazing, I spent alot of time getting the carbs dialed in as good as can be. The only thing I have done is obviously changed the oil, and put a manual cam chain tensioner on it thinking maybe that was the noise, but that was not the case. I have since purchased a new R6 and have not pursued any further investigation on the F2, nor do I have the time to, so its time to let it go. Bike is located in Cuba, NY.
