Vehicle Detail
1956 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. This is an original unrestored car. It has a little over 93,000 original miles. The 365 V-8 runs great. The transmission works perfectly. I bought this car in July of 2010 after the previous owners had let it sit for a number of years. In July 2010 I installed a new thermostat, new radiator hoses, Spark Plugs, Points, battery and new fluids before starting the car for the first time. Since then I have resealed the gas tank, installed a new fuel sending unit, ran new aluminum fuel line from the tank to the motor. It has BFG Silvertown wide whitewall radial tires on it with less than 2000 miles on them. The car runs and drives great. Driving this car really reminds you why Cadillac was known as "The Standard of The World" The body of the car is in good condition for its age. There are some dings on the fender and trunk lid (visible in the pictures). Behind both rear wheels there is some rust. The floors and trunk floor are solid. The paint is old and has chips here and there. There is a spot next to the trunk lid were a large amount of the paint has chipped off. It looks like the gas cap had been being set here during fill ups. The bumpers need rechroming to be perfect, but most of the chrome on the car is in good shape. Overall the car looks great from a distance and not bad for an original car up close. The interior is truly amazing for an unrestored car of this age. The seats are in excellent condition with no rips or tears. The headliner is perfect. The rear door panels are great. The passenger front door panel has some stitching coming apart on the arm rest other than that it is good. The drivers door panel is not so good it has been torn and has stitching falling apart on it. The car is not perfect but it has been reliable. It always get a ton of attention no matter where we are. When driving this car in the evenings it just feels like 1956! Some of the more notable issues are Rust behind rear wheelsDash lights do not work (rest of lights including turn signals work)Speedometer squeals at timesAll power windows work from drivers door switches but some do not work at there own switchWipers do not work This would be a great car to restore or drive as it is. We have loved driving and showing off this car but it is time to move on. $500 deposit through Paypal within 24 hours of auction end. Full payment in 7 days. The car is located in the Reno, Nevada area.
