nelson100oliva Store Note: I have a hardtop for the vehicle which is pictured but is not included in this auction. I will however sell it separately, or sell it to the winner for a reasonable offer. YOU ARE BIDDING ON ANOTHER OF MY VEHICLES FROM MY PRIVATE COLLECTION. THIS IS A GREAT PIECE OF HISTORY AND A ONE OWNER VEHICLE OWNED BY A SERVICEMAN IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY. THE SAILOR WHO OWNED THIS VEHICLE WAS STATIONED ON THE USS TRUCKEE. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL NEW YORK TITLE THAT HAS THE NAME OF THE SAILOR AND THE TRUCKEE ON IT. THE SAILOR SOLD THE CAR TO A GENTLEMAN IN NEW YORK IN 1994 WHO NEVER TITLED IT AND NEVER USED IT. THE CAR AND LEFT IT IN HIS BASEMENT, SO I PURCHASED IT AS A BARN FIND. I ALSO HAVE A LETTER FROM THE DMV OF NEW YORK WHEN NELSON ROCKEFELLER WAS GOVERNOR, FROM THE NAVY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION RELEASING ANY LIENS ON THE CAR. ITS A NICE PIECE OF HISTORY. THE TITLE ALSO LOOKS SUITABLE FOR HAVING A COLOR SCAN OF AND FRAMED ALONG WITH THE CAR. I PURCHASED THE CAR AND SHIPPED IT HERE TO FLORIDA. I HAD THE CAR REPAINTED IN THE ORIGINAL CODE FACTORY WHITE IN PPG PAINT. THE INTERIOR US UNTOUCHED EXCEPT FOR NEW CARPETING AS THE OLD ONE SMELLED PRETTY BADLY. THE CAR IS A ORIGINAL 4 SPEED CAR WITH AIR CONDITIONER. IT HAS 51000 ORIGINAL MILES. ALTHOUGH THE AC BELT WAS NOT ON WHEN MOTOR WAS PICTURED THE AC IS WORKING NOW ON THE CAR, I REINFORCED THE SUSPENSION AND DIFFERENTIAL, REPLACED ALL BRAKE LINES, COMPLETE BRAKE SYSTEM, CALIPERS, MASTER CYLINDER, LINES, ETC, ALL IS BRAND NEW. EMERGENCY BRAKE IS NOT WORKING. THE RIMS ARE ORIGINAL AND CODED TO THE CAR AND REPAINTED IN CORRECT FACTORY RALLY ALUMINUM PAINT. THE TIRES ARE BRAND NEW AND HAVE LESS THAN 25 MILES ON THEM. BF GOODRICH RADIALS. THE ENIGINE RUNS STRONG. THE UNDERCARRIAGE WAS PAINTED AND UNDERCOATED. THE BIRDCAGE IS SOLID. THE LUGGAGE RACK, EXHAUST TIPS, BEAUTY RINGS , ARE NEW. I HAVE OTHER NEW PARTS THAT COME WITH IT, MIRRORS, TRIM, SHIFT BOOT ETC. THE RADIO IS ORIGINAL AND THE ANTENNA WAS REPLACED. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS NEW AND FRAME WAS REMOVED AND REPAINTED. REAR TAIL LIGHTS AND REAR BUMPERS ARE NEW AS IS THE FRONT PARKING LAMS AND GRILLS. THIS CAR WAS STORED FOR MANY MANY YEARS AND I LEFT IT AS ORIGINAL AS I COULD WHILE REPLACING AND REDOING THE THINGS IT REQUIRED. IT HAS BEEN IN MY COLLECTION FOR A WHILE AND I JUST RECENTLY SOLD ANOTHER NAVY VEHICLE LAST WEEK AND NOW ITS TIME FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO OWN IT. THANKS .. SHIFTS WELL AND IT IS VERY FAST. here are answers to recent questions: no prob yes power brakes and power steering. no photos of undercarriage sorry on a vette its a nightmare to take.the hood does close fine and is aligned. if you are familiar with c3 vettes those irregularities are and were normal to the cars. you are correct those circles were the lens and lighting.the interior is very original and has been in storage for years. i would say a lot of detailing specially on the chrome items etc needs to be done, seat belts that kind of thing. this was in a basement for 15 plus years, hence the original; low miles. there is a trade off. the emergency brake was broken, dont know how or why so when the brakes were all redone the mechanic told me he took it off as it was extensive work to replace it. i did not challenge it I accepted it. ive owned several vettes and the ebrake never works and always gets stuck anyway, so i did nt cry too much. i dont see rust on the car. the bird cage looks solid and the frame is as when i bought it. it is a numbers matching original engine and tranny. it is a 350 motor. the car was recently tuned. it drives strong. car has been in storage for many years so i have not pushed it, however i have slowly increased speed and its very fast. i did not want to ruin the one owner car status so it is still titled with original open title. it is fully executed and transferable. thanks for looking.
