_______________Relisting Update ____________________ Since this is a relisting, with the car having received quite a bit of attention and bidding with the reserve having come somewhat close to being met, I'll try to break it down as honestly as I can for anyone who's interested in this mercedes but perhaps still unclear of the advantage of buying from an individual like me instead of a dealership.....I am far too busy with living my life to try and reconcile for some bidders how its possible someone would be selling a car barely six months old at such a huge loss without there being a huge defect with the car, versus the other half of the calls and emails I get from people who see the huge value but figure I must be despertate and therefore spend valuable time neither of us will ever get back advancing absurd low-ball offers. If I tried to address each and every nuanced question, and engage in the required amount of reassuring and hand-holding to give out of state folks a sense of comfort, I'd be here all week....so, even if not doing so means the car doesnt sell as quickly or I dont get the last $2000 out of a sale that I otherwise would have, I've decided all I can do is accurately describe the car, who I am and what kind of opportunity this is for someone looking for a pristine e550 for $15k less than sticker and about $7k less than you'll find pre-owned at a dealer right now . I'm willing to pay for the priveledge of having a little balance in my life - whether the car sells or not. Its that same unwillingness to compromise on what I need for quality of life regardless of what the transactional costs may be, that makes this car a rare oportunity for you to get a real value on a Mercedes-Benz that was first completely loaded up with every single luxury and amenity I could order from the factory, after which time it has been completely babied: hardly ever driven, garage kept and professionally detailed monthly. There simply isn't another car out there outfitted like this one with so little evidence that it ever left the dealership. I challenge you to find me another one like it - anywhere - every e550 Coupe on eBay right now is a 2010. I've had the opportunity to speak to several of you over the past couple of weeks who are located outside the state and believe me I get the whole "being adverse to buying a car on ebay thing," but these days a independent inspection is an easy thing to get done very quickly and inexpensively to confirm that there isnt a single thing wrong with this car. Furthermore, being able to finance an automobile is not something that is exclusive to the car dealership - all they do is submit your paperwork to the banks and finance companies - you can arrange your own financing with the bank or credit union of your choice - why pay $7,000.00 more for the exact same car with many more miles on it just because its at a Mercedes Benz dealership who will use their fax machine to submit YOUR personal information to obtain financing. Don't let the temporary distance between you and this automotive dream unjustifiably rob you of the chance to actually be on the right side of a transaction for once. I talk about my feedback down at the bottom of the listing having been earned in high dollar transactions, and the fact that I have sold numerous cars and now two boats on ebay...but probably the best thing I can say to close out this update on the relisting is to encourage you to look at the last recorded comment from yesterday. I just sold a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle that had 800 miles on it that had been similarly upgraded and treated with the same kind of regard as this car (or anything else in my life) - there were several guys out there who could see the bike was worth more than I was selling it for and who actually helped me improve the listing by asking specific questions about upgrades, etc., but they just couldn't envision buying sight unseen - well the gentleman who wound up clicking buy it now after looking at the listing and having one conversation with me lived in Illinois, paid immediately and just picked the bike up this weekend and the look on his face when he saw what he had just scored in person said it all - not everyone out in the world is full of it and it is possible to actually make out like a bandit if you're quick enough to sieze upon the opportunity and you have the ability to trust your gut and go with your instincts. I've done this so many times now in selling my items and this car will be no different; some of out of state guy will buy it sight unseen, his wife will probably be telling him it won't show up or if it does it won't even start, and a week later after his first road trip I'll be his newest best friend. I purchased this car less than six months ago after having to order and then wait months for the specific colors and options that I wanted (White exterior almost always comes with the light interior in Florida). This car was bought as a third car for me to enjoy on the weekends or other rare occaisions. After visiting the dealer one night I absolutely fell in love with the car and its aggressive yet refined styling and just had to have it, and bought it outright with no financing or banks involved. So, why am I selling? Frankly I wish I wasn't having to but I just can not seem to drive the car with any enjoyment during day light hours. I recently suffered a massive stroke, and while my body has since recovered much of its functioning, I am left with residual permanent effects and damage. Strangely, one such lingering issue is a highly acute sensitivity to bright sunlight - even indirect sunlight feels like a direct blinding spot light being shined in my eyes. Anyway, back to the car, one its greatest features is that panorama roof that affords both the front and rear seat passengers to a glass roof exposure - its nothing short of breathtaking. Unfortunately for me, this is the first car Mercedes has built with the panorama roof that didn't also come with a retractable BLACK OUT shade for daylight shading purposes. Instead the car comes with a retracting shade that isn't quite blackout and allows filtered light to come in (see my last photograph). No one else who has been in car seems to even notice, and neither did I when I was at the dealer in the evening hours, but due to my stroke the little light that does come through the shade, however blunted and filtered, nonetheless is bothersome and distracting to the point of not being able to drive. Its hard to explain but its akin to having dozens of needle points hitting my eyes - a strange and random after effect of a near fatal stroke that frankly I am lucky to have survived, so I guess if selling a car is the worst thing I have to deal with this year as a consequence then I should count my blessings. Please understand no one else has ever complained about this, and I am not knocking the car one bit, I just can't live with the sheerness of that shade even though to anyone looking may think I am crazy.
