Vehicle Detail

Car was manufactured in 1960, sold in 1961 in S. CA. I purchased the car for $15,500 in 1989 from a private owner in San Diego. At that time, the car needed work, but it was a nice driver. I had the car taken down to the frame in 1995. Work was done by Pelham Brothers, Clinton, IA. During the rebuild the passenger front quarter and the driver rear quarter panels were replaced. All chrome was redone. Trunk well, floor boards and battery well were replaced. Stainless steel exhaust and gas tank were replaced. Significant work on the suspension was also accomplished. New paint and all new interior (red leather) finished off a $20K rebuild. Since then, the car has been maintained well and driven sparingly. Tires were replaced in 2008. Head gasket was replaced and radiator rebuilt in 2009. Car comes with hard top, soft top, boot cover. All gauges work. Clock works. Orignial Solex carbuerators. Title is clean. Car is being sold AS-IS/WHERE-IS, but I believe you can drive it home, no problem. To be fair, this car is not pristine. There are some cosmetic deficiencies as it is a driver, not a show car. The windshield, for example has minor bubbling in the corners and the windshield gasket is not 100% watertight. Paint on wheel covers is chipped in places. Chrome is not 100% perfect, but it is still quite nice overall. Carpets are not perfect, but they are functional. I have no estimate of what it would take to make the car perfect, but it is FAR from being a major restoration project. I can tell you that I cannot drive the car across town without being asked, "What year is that?" Or, "How long have you owned that?" Or some such question. It is a head-turner and a gas to drive around in. All told, I have at least $45K in the car, but I'm selling it WITHOUT RESERVE. Minimum bid secures a sale, so good luck to all bidders!
