Vehicle Detail
Take a look at this '64 PV544 Volvo. It runs great and has a super paint job that included restoration of the firewall. (See photos.) Lots of work done to get it there, incl. new tires, dashpad, headliner, hat shelf, mud flaps, floor mats, kick panels, battery, fuel pump, fuel line, tune-up, water pump, heater control valve, plus complete exhaust system and all new brakes (incl. shoes, wheel cylinders, hoses and master cylinder). I believe the perforated vinyl seats are original. A buyer who is looking for a show car would probably replace them, though they are good as is. There is also some crackle-paint coming off the speedometer face (see photo). This is does not affect the function or general appearance of the car, but again it can be easily repaired. I purchased the car from its 81-year-old original owner in California 18 years ago. It has just under 174,000 miles and was meticulously maintained by Continental Volvo of Oakland, CA for the original owner. It has been garaged as long as I've owned it. I have service receipts plus many spare parts. I've reduced the price to $11,800 (which is less than half of what I have invested in the car) or reasonable offer. I also have a custom car cover (used once) that I will include at the Buy It Now price or sell separately. The car is garaged in Old Saybrook, CT. I'm losing the garage it's in and am looking for a buyer who can appreciate the car and continue to take good care of it. In response to a question from an earlier listing, added photos of the only rust-through spots found on the car when painted. All were repaired with metal. There was also some minor corrosion at the bottom of the battery compartment. It too was repaired with metal. The car is remarkably rust-free, probably due to spending most of its time in California. Open Trunk photo shows Volvo PV544 Shop Manual which is included. Original owner's manual is in the glove compartment. For more info, send e-mail or call me at 860-229-5000. Thanks. Don Naples in CT
