It had a freshly rebuilt engine, new Akront aluminum wheels with stainless spokes, new tires, new sprockets & chain and just about all new running gear. The motor was professionally rebuilt with .020 over pistons, new rod & main bearings and anything else needed by noted Triumph mechanic, Joe Durko. The café seat was replaced with a Twinseat from a British seat supplier and regular style fenders and turn signals were installed. Paint work was done at Painting by Parker of Carmichaels PA. The blue is a Mercedes Benz color that was chosen as it very closely approximates the Pacific Blue of the 1971 -72 model range. The points were replaced with a Boyer Electronic ignition and the Amal carb gave way to a Keihin Britflow which is a huge improvement. Gone is the messy overflow of gas from the tickler and the bike usually fires on the 1st or 2nd kick. The aftermarket pipes are brand new and sound good –slightly louder than stock mufflers. Many other things have been added over the years to try to make this bike into a nice rider with an original look, and anything that ever needed attention was addressed. The fork seals were just replaced and the bike had PA State Inspection last week. The only cosmetic issue is a scuff on the front fender (see photos) where the tach cable rubbed. We have some of the paint for touchup. The true mileage is unknown but 1500 miles have been put on since the reconstruction in 1996. Right now it is oil tight after many efforts to eliminate drips. The bike starts easily, runs strong and shifts smoothly. Everything is working properly –speedometer, tach, headlights, turn signals, brake lights etc. Clear PA regular motorcycle title in hand so the bike is all ready to go for the next owner.
