Vehicle Detail

I have a 72 Maverick project I got from the second owner, he bought the car in 1974 and took pretty good care of it in the 225K life. I bought it to restore but I am a Mopar guy and have decided to let a Ford guy do it the way he wants. The body is real clean and I couldn't find anything more thasn surface type rust with NO perferations anywhere on the car. There is some filler from body dings that were repaired years ago when it was painted (originally green) but no rust issues. The left fender has been bumped and this is the second time in it's life, there is evidence of some repair to the top part of the inner fender (see pic) from the previous accident but there has never been any frame damage. According to the previous owner the car drove very straight and the tires have no funny wear patterns. All the glass is in good shape and all the trim, lights, etc. is intact except for the damaged LH bezel. The interior is pretty clean, a crack in the dash pad and stitching coming loose in the headliner is the worst. The car came with factory bucket seats and floor shift which is nice, would be easy to turn this into a Grabber tribute car. It has a custom stereo setup that has rear speakers in the back under the original factory speaker grills. I also noticed a small switch next to the stereo spot that appears to be the original speaker fader from new. Door panels are decent but the painted part will need to be redone. Front windows roll up and down just fine. The engine and transmission are the originals, he had both rebuilt over the years but the transmission is bad. The motor has about 110K on it since it was rebuilt in the late 80's and has started to use some oil but still runs. I have not tried to start it but the transmission dumped all it's fluid in his driveway awhile back so it will probably not drive under it's own power by just adding fluid. You'll notice the side pipes, he bought those and headers from J. C. Whitney back in the 70's and never installed the headers so they are it the original box in the trunk. I also noticed the original spare and jack are in there also. The rear end in an 8" and it has front drum brakes. The rims are 97-98 Mustang 14x7 and the tires are only about 4 years old with good tread. Take a look at the pictures and let me know if you have any questions. There is one log book with miles and what services were done but he lost the one that covered it from the date he purchased it. The car has been taken care of and garage a good portion of it's life, it has been sitting in his garage for the last year and a half befor I got it a moth ago. The registration is on PNO for those in CA so no registration penalties. Drop in a motor and trans and you could be driving this car in a weekend, this isn't a car from a field or barn. I described it as honestly as possible (look at my selling feedback) but may have missed something since I'm not a Maverick expert so just let me know. I have more pictures if you need them and can take something special if needed. Call 559-999-2347 with questions, Thanks!
