Vehicle Detail

2008 Shelby GT500 Up for auction is my much loved GT500. I never planned on selling this car but I just have way too many toys right now and need to thin down a bit. I purchased this car March 29th, 2008 off the showroom floor at Blue Bonnet Ford in San Antonio, TX. I brought it home in an enclosed cargo trailer. From the day I purchased the car it has never seen a drop of rain or a wet road. It hasn’t even spent a single night outside. Always stored covered in the garage. When I was in high school I drooled over hot Mustangs. When they announced they were building the GT500 I knew it was finally time to own one. I waited for over a year until the dealers stopped scalping them and prices got back at least close to sticker. I’m 40 years old and have always over maintained the car. Although I’ve enjoyed driving it it’s never been beaten on. My goal with the car was to have one of the fastest cars on the road without sacrificing any drivability. This car is perfectly at home in traffic going to the grocery store. It’s still a new car (even smells new inside) and is ready to drive anywhere. I considered making it my daily driver but just have too many other vehicles. I had the car tuned on the dyno to make sure there were no lean conditions and the mapping was correct. The car made 562 HP and 543 TQ at the rear wheels on a very conservative tune. The car is very fast and demands a lot of respect. I wouldn’t recommend the car for someone that doesn’t have any performance car experience. It can be a handful if you don’t exercise some throttle control. I had no intention of selling the car so I did a lot of work to it. The dyno tuning was done by Cody at Stang-Hi Performance in Baton Rouge. (www.stanghi.com) He does amazing work and I highly recommend him. Every other modification to the car was done by me. Every nut and bolt meticulously torque to the correct setting. I have every piece removed from the car boxed up and they will be included with the sale of the car. Every single receipt and piece of paper ever associated with the car is filed in binders. There are no modifications to the car that cannot be reversed if you choose. The following is a list of things done to the car: -Carol Shelby signed dash plaque with VIN – $324.95 Coated with 5 layers of UV resistant clear. -Front brake cooling kit– Kit $276.01 Inlets $137.62 Additional hose and clamps $67.22 -Brake pads from Stillen front and rear- $XXX Stainless brake lines - $XXX Synthetic high temp brake fluid. You figure out very quick stock brakes are not enough with the additional hp. Things start coming at you very fast. Night and day better now over stock. -FRPP Cobra Jet polished throttle body - $589.99 -FRPP Cobra Jet polished mass air intake - $574.99 -FRPP GT500KR exhaust - $629.90 -FRPP floor mats - $42.00 -FRPP oil filter – $12.95 each -FRPP rear end girdle - $191.99 -FRPP shorty headers ceramic coated - $455.00 Installed with FRPP locking hardware - $61.70 No chance of the bolts backing out. -FRPP “racing” short shifter - $197.40 Shortens throw but makes it a little “notchy” been thinking about trying the Shelby version. -FRPP 113 mm cold air intake kit - $717.40 -FRPP handling package - $1,554.99 Includes springs, shocks, struts, sway bars, strut tower brace, poly bushings. Car handles like its on rails. No body roll. Adjustable at all four corners. -AutoMeter gauges - $XXX Speed of Sound gauge pod - $149.99 Oil manifold - $83.58 Fuel block kit $48.62 -GT500 head rest covers - $45.98 had this extra set embroidered with the FRPP logo. -Ford blue paint for misc suspension parts - $24.25 -Revan Racing dual fan heat exchanger - $680.00 If you run the car in warm weather the stock intercooler can’t keep up. The car copes by pulling the timing and decreasing the hp. This can be very frustrating. With the larger exchanger and dual fans I’ve never had the car pull timing again. Much cooler intake temps. -Hood lift struts - $126.00 No more prop rod. Cleaner look. -J&M camber plates – $247.65 To get camber correct with FRPP suspension kit. Not addressed with kit. -J&M adjustable panhard rod - $114.50 To center the rear end after the car is lowered. The FRPP kit does not address this so the rear end will actually be offset to one side without an adjustable panhard bar. -J&M lower control arms - $196.52 If you have ever driven a stock GT500 the wheel hop is horrible. The upper and lower control arms fix this problem. Power goes straight to the ground now. J&M make great parts and great customer service. Parts look heavy duty compared to some others. -J&M adjustable upper control arm - $148.52 -BMR panhard brace - $59.99 Keeping the rear end rigid. Probably an overkill part but that never stopped me before. -POR15 paint - $74.95 Painted rear end getting rid of factory rust. Look at a stock GT500 and you will find the complete rear end covered in rust. Rear end acid washed, degreased, and painted with POR15. -BangaStang radiator cover - $485 Just one look under the hood. Nuff said. -SHELBY license frame - $9.75 -SCT X3 flash Ford tuner - $379.00 Tuner holds stock tune. -Dyno Tuning at Stang-Hi - $351.50 Cody at Stang Hi is the only person in the area I would trust to touch my car. The care they take wrapping fenders before working under the hood and parking them inside is just an example of the pride they take. -NGK TR6 spark plugs - $32.00 -BMR drive shaft safety loop - $125.00 Keeps things from getting ugly if there is ever a drive shaft failure. -Dynotech one piece drive shaft - $750.00 -VMP 2.65” SC pulley and 90 mm idler - $195.58 Puller included $140.00 This adds only about 2-3 lbs of additional boost. Car made a max of 13.56 lbs of boost on the dyno. Very conservative. Other Items: -OEM car cover included. -Personalized “08GT500” LA plate – I believe an in state buyer can keep the same plate. Tag will be removed for out of state buyers. -Dealer invoice on the car. Several binders and carrying case full of paperwork. -Car has Shaker 1000 stereo including sub in the trunk. Sounds very good and is XM ready. -Factory HID headlights. -Car is tinted. May not be legal as it is in your state, or any state for that matter. -Two additional scuffed chin spoilers included. I have a steep driveway…. -Brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 OEM tires mounted and balanced. They haven’t been out of the driveway! What more could you ask for? -Oil always changed with OEM MotorCraft synthetic oil and Ford Racing oil filter. I just did a fresh change and it’s ready to go. Once again, hasn’t left driveway since change. -Car will be detailed and I will put a fresh coat of wax on this weekend. -2008 GT500 - $50,960 Add the parts above and you get an idea of what’s been invested into the car. I’m sure there are other things that I’m forgetting. As I said, all stock parts are included with the car. I may even have a few additional parts not yet installed on the car. Everything I find goes with the car. Probably enough parts to fill a pickup bed. Car has every available option except for navigation. I opted for the Shaker 1000 stereo instead. Much better choice in my opinion. The car handles like its on rails. It will handle corners much faster than I am willing to push it. Even with the extensive suspension work first gear is pretty much a joke with any real throttle. Second gear is better but still requires some throttle control or you’ll be facing some direction you didn’t intend on traveling. Car hooks pretty well in third if you don’t shift too hard. If you wanted to drive the car hard off the line you would definitely need some drag radials. I’ve only had the Goodyear Eagles on it. If you drop the pressure they don’t do too bad for daily driving. Car has one rock chip on the hood from driving. You can tell the front seats have been sat in. Other than that the car shows as brand new. You won’t find a cleaner driver. This is not a fire sale. I’m not even convinced I want to sell it so if it stays in the garage, no big deal. NADA clean trade on the car is $36,875 so that is where I will set the reserve, so no need to ask. With all the money and 100’s of hours sunk into the car it would be a steal at that price. Clean retail on the car shows $40,550. Total investment in the car is well north of $60,000. (Hope my wife doesn’t read this!) To address some other questions, don’t know how fast the car is in the quarter mile and don’t have any idea what top speed is. A lot faster than I’m willing to go and that’s always been good enough for me. The car is financed through Chase Auto Finance. They hold the title to the car. Buyer, lender if applicable, will make payoff to Chase and balance to me. Chase will release the title to buyer or buyer’s lender. If this is an issue, please don’t bid. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of the end of auction. If you come look at the car and you feel it’s been misrepresented in any way I’ll refund your money minus eBay fees. Balance due within seven days of auction end. I no longer have my enclosed trailer but may be willing to help with delivery if agreed to prior to the end of auction. I live less than 45 minutes from the New Orleans airport and would be happy to provide transportation. I will be unavailable Labor Day weekend. Going to Dallas to watch LSU put the smack down on Oregon. Buyer can take delivery either before or after. Pretty much any other day weekday or weekend I can be available. If you have any questions you can shoot me a message or contact me on my cell at 504-270-4196. My name is Kieffer. Car is located between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, LA. Inspections prior to the end of auction are welcome. I have bought and sold cars, trucks, boats, bikes, etc on eBay. I have never been involved in a deal that both parties weren’t satisfied. Please view my feedback and bid with confidence. Thanks for taking the time to view my auction.
