Vehicle Detail

This is a really, really nice all original 1931 Chrysler coupe. This model was actually an early 1932 version from what I've read. It's the 6-cylinder CM model, has hydraulic brakes and it has a rumble seat too! It's unrestored, has been in dry Texas storage for MANY years and is not currently in running condition. The engine turns over by hand, it has oil in it, the transmission seems to shift smoothly through all gears, so I think it could run with minimal effort. The body is exceptionally clean and complete - the floors and rockers are good (no rust), the fenders are basically very straight and the body as a whole is way above average for an unrestored car of this age. The only rust-through that I see is in the floor of the rumble seat area (see picture) and this is very minimal, probably just the result of accumulated dust sitting there. The car is remarkably complete - something like probably 95+%. The rumble seat springs are missing (I suspect that reproduction Ford Model A ones would work), one headlight rim and both headlight lenses are missing too. I've seen these on eBay before so I doubt they're that hard to find. Also, the radiator ornament is missing but I've seen very good reproduction ones available. The rear bumper is off but is included too. The Texas title is still in a past owner's name and it dates from 1978 so may or may not be readily transferrable, I'm sure it depends upon the state you live in. I'll accept $500 down through PayPal, the balance will be in cash upon pickup or a cashier's check that has at least three weeks to clear before vehicle is moved. It is stored inside and can be stored up to 30 days without a problem, longer would have to be discussed as I'm currently renting storage for it. Thanks for looking, this will make a phenomenal restoration! The original patina would even look great "as is" if it was up and running and could be enjoyed until such time that a person had the time and money to complete the cosmetics. On Aug-09-11 at 05:27:59 PDT, seller added the following information: These Chryslers were magnificent cars in their day, larger and more comfortable riding than the smaller cars like Fords. According to the Standard Catalog of American Cars, this model was actually sold as an early-release 1932 model. With rumble seat, it was also a relatively rare model - just 5,327 produced. This particular car is even more rare as it has quite a few options. These include front and rear bumpers, rear spare tire, wire spoke wheels, cowl lights and cigar lighter. My car even has an early radio installed - someone told me this was the first year of radio as an option and that this one looks like it could be original, but I haven't found proof of that.
