This stunning Vette is running smooth and has only 72xxx miles on it. Under the hood is a 5.7 liter V8 with 385 horsepower and still gets 28 MPG hwy! It has the 6-speed manual transmission, Z51 handling package, Traction Control, 4-wheel ABS brakes, Dual Air bags & more! It is in original condition with a Kewood GPS navigation system/DVD/CD radio being the only modification. As it is a 10-year-old, it does have some minor issues: Minor dings (the worst is pictured) but NO accidents or dents. Minor scuffs and she could use a detailing, but the overall paintjob is still nice & glossy. The tires are matched and still have decent tread remaining. The driver seat has a 1-inch split seam (pictured) but no excessive wear. The interior temperature display dims out sometimes but all functions work. This Corvette starts, runs, shifts & drives smooth. NO smoke. Deep, beautiful engine note, A/C is cold, heater is hot, all electrics work: Electric windows, electric door locks, electric rearview mirrors, dash lights & indicators, cruise control, interior lights, exterior lights. It was Zora Arkus-Duntov, the Corvette spiritual father and first chief engineer, who made the new-for-1963 Sting Ray race-ready out of the showroom. This limited-edition performance package was named after its factory ordering designation: "Z06." The Z06 model returned for 2001 and also proved a performance terror straight out of the box. With its 5.7L LS6 V-8 (packing 385 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque) and six-speed transaxle, melting the 295/35ZR18 rear tires into the asphalt is easy. GM wisely includes its three-mode (active, competitive, and off) second-generation Active Handling system on the Z06, working in conjunction with the FE4 suspension (larger front anti-roll bar, stiffer rear leaf springs, and revised camber settings). This makes the Z remarkably tossable and highly capable on the track, without inducing a jarring highway ride. Inside, the Z06 has a specific instrument cluster with revised graphics and 6500 redline on the tach. Its solid-black leather seats include additional side bolstering to keep occupants firmly in place during hard cornering.
