Vehicle Detail
1983 Honda GL650 Silverwing Interstate No doubt if you are looking at this bike, you already know it was only made one year and is becoming an increasingly rare bike, especially in this condition. This one survived 28 years with only minor cosmetic flaws. More importantly, it runs well and only has 14k+ miles on it. To add to all of that, it has the sought after accessories: Honda Clarion AM/FM radio with factory speakers. 4 gauge accessory package (volt meter, temperature gauge, altimeter, and clock that all work). It has the Markland adjustable backrest, Trunk extender with crash bar, Saddle bag crash bars, engine crash bars with foot pegs, Front fender guard and headlight visor. The original Honda tire gauge and pouch. There is even a throttle lock. I’ve never dropped it but the previous owner told me it did fall over onto the right side while parked thus the reason for the scratches on the right bag and fairing. The fairing was touched up which is obvious only if you are looking for it. The front seat has two minor flaws as you can see in the pictures. The decal on the top of the trunk is somewhat faded. The mufflers are all but perfect with only a little ding or two. The head pipes are tarnished somewhat like most are. Of course it comes with the owners manual, Honda radio manual, Honda luggage manual and tool kit which includes the chrome helmet lock extender chain. One of the keys that came with the bike fits everything. (ignition, truck, and bags) The bike also comes with a shop manual, several spare oil filters, garage posters, and several other spare parts. I’ve had the bike a little over 5 years. I ride it 5-6 times a year. Usually touring thru the monuments and mountains here in Western Colorado but occasionally just running errands in town. I’ve got 5 older Honda’s total. When this one is sold I’ll sell my 1971 Gold CB350 on E-Bay (which is also in nice shape) then get to work on cleaning up my two SL350’s and Sl175. (It’s nice to be retired……) I doubt this bike will depreciate. It’s too nice and there are very few of them, and most of all you get to satisfy your need to ride occasionally….. I’ll be happy to help you with the shipping if necessary. I’ll be heading East to Cincinnati later on this month and will be happy to put it in my enclosed trailer and deliver it if you live along that route for gas money. (I’ll be happy to make a short detour if necessary). I’ll need a non-refundable deposit of $500 thru PayPal after the auction and the remainder in the form of cash or certified check upon delivery. No over-seas shipping. It’s For Sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Lots more pictures if you would like them. Although this is an above average motorcycle, there is NO warranty. On Aug-05-11 at 11:00:41 PDT, seller added the following information: 'Gas Money' Explanation I'd like to apologize to everyone for not clarifying what 'gas money' meant.......... The trip to Cincinnati is about 3000 miles round trip. If I take the trailer(which I've done before) it costs me more or less an extra $300 for gas money depending on gas prices. It would be about the same price for everyone along my route, as I have to pull the trailer the entire 3000 miles. I'd actually prefer to spend a little of my time, effort and resources to deliver the bike personally to provide everyone with a little more piece of mind rather than to ship it. On Aug-10-11 at 07:54:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Lowering Reserve I've had some interest expressed in buying some of the accessories on the bike. I'd like to sell the bike intact, but may sell some of the accessories individually after the auction is over if the bike doesn't sell. In an effort to sell the bike intact, I am reluctantly lowering the reserve price. Appreciate all the interest and Good Luck with your bidding.
