This is 1979 (first generation) Honda Civic CVCC (2 speed Hondamatic) Wagon 1500DX . This car is C-L-E-A-N!!! I purchased the car in 2008 from a gentleman who had just bought it himself (to sell) from it's original owner in California! (He didn't drive it at all, just titled it briefly and sold it to me.) When I purchased the Civic it had just a tad over 40,000 ORIGINAL miles. It has been stored in Minnesota for the last 3 years, never driven or even been outside a single winter day. The body is clean, the elements have not effected the metal here at all. I have put less than 2,000 miles on the car myself over the last few years. (Odometer currently shows 41,722, as it will upon arrival to it's new home.) ******************************THE CAR IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING.************************************ It had been stored until yesterday, when I pulled it out to get ready for use as a daily driver, until I found a new car. (lease is ending on my current daily driver.) I dropped a new battery in and started it right up. I drove it about 10 miles before it started smoking, and stopped running. Turns out there was no coolant in the car, likely something dried out, cracked and leaked in the last two years it has been stored. As a result the timing cover melted, the radiator is leaking, and head gasket is blown. (the photos were taken prior to this occuring) Everything else about this car is mechanically sound and ready for a whole lot more life. Again there is less than 42,000 original miles on this car, the body is SOLID, the engine is sound and a very rare HONDAMATIC transmission to boot. There are a million good parts in here, (including a brand new battery and alternator) if you are looking for a good parts car, or some simple/inexpensive fixes for a mechanically savoy person.
