Vehicle Detail
Looking for a good home- ugly but reliable and almost complete O.E.M. (except bars and exhaust) 1974 Glory Blue/black 350 F1. Barn find (Jul '11) Titled, registered, insured, and ridden every day since by me (weather permitting). I have completed preventive maintenance/safety checks and services as per Clymer. I have adjusted the brakes, clutch, and drive and cam chain tension. It starts and runs well. My figures indicate a combined m.p.g. of 40. There are no obvious indications of problems with carbs, valves, or rings. When garaged overnight, there has been no indication of leaks. The electrical system seems to be in order including the functioning horn. I intended this to be a restoration project, but I have no shop, special tools, or fabricating ability. This is an excellent buy for those who do or if you're just looking for something to put a grin on your face. Now for the ugly part. Be sure to enlarge and look closely at the photos to gauge the severity of the following things I know or suspect: 1) Every chrome piece is rusted/pitted to some degree right down to the nuts and bolts. (replacing chrome is prohibitively expensive) 2) The fuel tank has a few dents, but the rust inside is not nearly as bad as some I've seen in photos on this site. 3) The tank dents and the right-hand headlight bracket appear to have been damaged in some (undisclosed to me) front end mishap. 4) The tach does not work and the speedometer bounces about 10 mph at steady speed, but the odometer and trip meter work. 5) The brake light does not actuate with the front brake lever, but works well with trail braking. 6) The pulled-back handlebars are not original. 7) The exhuast system appears to be period correct after-market, but I have not found any maker's mark. 8) Seat seams separated. 9) Left side-cover badge missing. 10) No tool kit or owner's manual.
