Vehicle Detail
What you see here is quite possibly the cleanest all original Chevrolet Panel Trucks you will ever see. It was originally owned by a local company named McElheney Locksmiths, and was driven VERY sparingly for 50 years. Mostly it sat in front of their shop as a billboard, and was always garaged. It was sold several years ago to a local painter, who filed bankruptcy and had to sell it off for the court settlement. I am the third owner of it. I recently spoke to the original owner. The odometer numbers are faded and peeling beyond clear recognition. When I bought it, the clerk listed the mileage as 62,000, but I believe it is actually 42,000. The original owner said he believed it was more along the lines of the 40k number when he sold it, and the second owner said he never drove it after bringing it home. Thought about putting in a 350/350, but hate to destroy a museum relic. The tires on it are dry rotted, but hold air. Will trailer fine, but I wouldn't drive it with what is on it now much further than around the block. Took it to my mechanic, and had the water pump replaced, the gas tank cleaned and boiled out, and some misc items. The carb leaks a little, but I haven't ran it long enough to see if that will go away. It has been sitting a LONG time. Starts right up and drives just like a all original 1948 1 ton truck should. Would be glad to answer any questions at (419)276-3109. Please, no scammers, do not call to offer me any services, or any other crazy calls. Hate parting with it, but I have too much money invested, and no room to properly store it. Was told by a reputable classic car dealer that it would fetch $18,000-$20,000 if listed in Jennings or at the proper auction. Buy it for looks, buy it for an investment, buy it and make a rod out of it...very rare to see one this nice.
