Vehicle Detail

1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Autostick transmission. Great body, nice interior(as far as it's done). I have made an 11 minute YouTube video, showing and describing the car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xZrcuZWXRo 07/19: added another 3 minute video of underside: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWJ8aun4VYU Please watch the entire long-winded thing, and read this entire ad before asking questions, if you are interested in bidding on this car. The front hood does close, I just don't b/c the release lever is not hooked up, and I have to fetch a skinny-armed kid to reach up and open it if it gets closed. I purchased it in late 2003 and have just stored it, and I won't have time to work on it in the forseeable future. According to previous owner, their son drove it, it ran well until the motor began to smoke. He decided to rebuild the motor and paint the car. The paint was done, the motor rebuilt to the longblock, the interior partially done. The son left for the army before the project was complete. The body, paint, and interior(as far as it was done) are in great shape and does not need redoing, other than polishing the minor scuffs it acquired in their and my garages over the years. As I show in the video, the floorboard repair leaves something to be desired (rear halves, both sides), and I would recommend a general scraping/treating/rustproofing of the underside and interior of the car. Also the motor has sat with the intake open, there is dust and mouse poop, so that will need to be opened an cleaned. I've included some odd pics of the usual rust trouble spots you would usually see on these cars (wheel wells, corners), which this car does not have. This car is close to being road-ready after some rustproofing and assembly, or would be a great base for a more ambitious restoration.
