Vehicle Detail

Hello. This is a 1953 Austin Healey 100-4 that was purchased by my father 16 years ago. It is an early model and even has an aluminum skin on the "bonnet" and trunk lid. The car has had a number of improvements including a stainless steel floor installed, a rebuilt 4-speed gearbox added, new fuel tank etc., but is by no means completely restored. When he passed away, I decided to keep the car, but due to my own projects, illness and various other things I never really got a chance to finish up where he left off. Please look at the pictures closely. I will be adding more shortly, including interior and underside views. The Healey has nice paint and is pretty straight, but does have a chip and ding here and there. The largest is a shallow crease in the upper right rear quarter panel, where something had obviously fallen against it. It starts, runs and drives, but will need some work from the next owner. I know the emergency brake tends to stick, various lights and the fuel gauge don't work, but is overall a very nice car. I have a 100% positive feedback and try to be honest in my descriptions, however I have somewhat of a limited knowledge when it comes to British vehicles. It is gorgeous little car that will bring smiles, stares and questions from all around when driven. I drive the Healey every month or two just to keep it exercised. It comes with what was a new set of chrome whire wheels and tires when they were installed and I will be including the original painted wire wheels and tires they replaced. It has a Pennsylvania Title, but has been in Texas for about the last ten years. It has been stored indoors the entire time my family has owned the car. I have had some cancer problems including a leg issue that makes it harder and harder to get into this tight sports car. This is a no nonsense add. I have listed the car at a very reasonable price and the high bidder gets it. Please ask any questions you might have before bidding. I will be glad to store the vehicle free of charge for 45 days after the auction and would be glad to assist in loading or what ever I can do to make your purchase go more smoothly. I live about 30 from the DFW International Airport should someone wish to view the car. I don't do this for a living, but this is what will be expected at the end of the auction. A $2000 non-refundable deposit will be required within 48 hours of the auctions end. The remaining balance must be paid within 10 days of the end of the auction. All forms of payment that require a clearing time will be allowed to fully process and clear my bank before the vehicle is released. Good luck!On Jul-25-11 at 14:25:34 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added another 16 pictures. The block number is B206610.On Jul-27-11 at 14:00:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is a little more information based on many of the questions I have been recieving. The top bows and soft top are installed on the vehicle and appear to be in good condition, however I have never had the need to raise it. It does come with a set of side curtains as well. Besides what is pictured, the car will come with a tonneau cover and providing I find it a very nice, soft, thick, custom car cover to keep the dust off and protect the finish. I have used it for years, but just haven't seen it in the last month or two, but am reasonably sure I will locate it. Also include are 5 original wire wheels with four tires and a few other parts. The vehicle is titled to my father with a clear Pennsylvania title. My mom who has a house up there, but mostly resides down here a few minutes form me has the authority to sign it over. We have sold a number of vehicles in the past and I don't expect to have any problems with this one. The car, title and parts are all located in the DFW area.
