Up for auction is a 1971 Buick Electra 225 Four-Door Sedan equipped with the 455 cubic inch V8 engine and an automatic transmission. The Buick is owned by the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania, a non-profit museum dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of transportation history. We recently took the car out of storage. It started right up with the installation of a charged battery and fresh gas. This Buick is in very good overall condition and can be used and appreciated as is or it can be taken to the next level with minimal work. It is offered with a reasonable opening bid and no reserve. The car is not for sale outside of eBay and the auction will not be ended early. All proceeds benefit the Museum. The car was test driven around the Museum campus. It was not taken out on the open road. It starts, drives, shifts and stops with no obvious problems. The vehicle is equipped with the typical power equipment. If you want to know about something specific, please ask. Most items are in working order with the known exception of one burned out headlight and the radio which turns on but produced no sound. The previous owner and donor of the car indicated that many components and systems were repaired and/or replaced, including an engine rebuild that now has less than 1,000 miles on it and a professional two-stage paint job in 2004. The body is straight and the doors and panels have good fit/alignment. The body shows no rust. There are a couple of small bubbles around the rear windows. The interior is complete and in good overall condition. It features black vinyl throughout. The headliner is nice. The seats show normal wear, but no damage. There are no major stains, rips or glaring damage to any of the components with the exception of a small tear in one of the door handle pulls. All chrome, emblems and trim are intact. The underside is in comparable condition to the rest of the vehicle; it does have surface rust, oil residue, etc. The car was undercoated at some point and there are signs or rust bleed-through and areas where the coating is beginning to peal. The car includes some extra belts and an extra power steering pump The Buick is accurately represented in the photographs but interested parties are encouraged to ask questions and/or schedule a personal inspection. This vehicle is offered as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. It has a valid Pennsylvania title which will be transferred to the new owner upon successful completion of the transaction. Shipping and transportation of the car will are the responsibility of the new owner. We will gladly work with you or the shipper/transporter of your choice to coordinate the move. The new owner will have two weeks from the completion of the auction to pick up the vehicle unless other arrangements are made in advance.
