Vehicle Detail

This is my mother's Volvo 740 Wagon. This vehicle runs and drives great and has NO RUST! At 70-75 MPH on the highway it tracks perfectly and smooth--no shimmies or vibrations. We had ~$750 worth of work done to it last year(have receipt), including new water pump and new belts. The exterior is in very good condition for its age, and gets a lot of positive looks and comments. This is a classic Volvo "Brick" at its best, and is very low mileage for its age. The car would easily go another 150,000-200,000 miles. When you take off the oil fill cap and look down into the crankcase, it looks new! Tires are in good shape and probably good for another year or more. Interior is very good except for a couple of small tears in the front seats(see pics). No cracks in the dash, and no excessive wear anywhere else. Known issues: The A/C quit working early this summer, and I was told it was the compressor. The part is $180 on Ebay. We just roll the windows down. There is a small piece of trim missing on one of the rear doors, and the driver rear door only locks and unlocks with the power locks. The stereo got stolen--too bad for the thieves because it barely worked anyway. The car was involved in a minor fender bender last year, which involved replacing the hood and front grill...It is 100% repaired and did not affect anything mechanical or structural. I can say definitively that there is no cheaper, more reliable transportation that can be had than one of these old Volvo's. It uses the same chassis and B230F engine as the venerable 240, but with a nicer and roomier interior. The only reason we are selling is that we have 2 cars(our other car is a Volvo 850 with 92k), and only have space for 1. This car is garage kept and is used to transport us from NYC to our vacation home in the Poconos. Vehicle is sold as-is, no warranty is expressed or implied. Car is available for viewing and test drives at the parking garage at 184th and Broadway in Manhattan. Cash Only less Paypal Deposit. $1 starting bid--NO RESERVE!! Happy Bidding! On Jul-22-11 at 06:41:21 PDT, seller added the following information: This car has NO RUST and the timing belt was replaced last year as part of its major maintenance service. All belts were replaced and a new water pump was installed. The headliner is not sagging. The car is a Non-Turbo. No other major repairs have been done to it.On Jul-27-11 at 09:47:30 PDT, seller added the following information:I've added some new picture of the engine bay and undercarriage today. Check it out!On Jul-30-11 at 05:35:48 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: We have discovered a new minor issue with the drivers side front window regulator. Basically this is the device that makes the window motor stop once it rolls up all the way if you don't take your finger off the switch. It rolls up fine but makes a clunking noise after it is up all the way if you don't release the control. The part to fix it is between $50-100 on Ebay.
