Great truck for an easy restoration back to original or use it "as is" to take the bike to the desert. I purchased this truck from the original owner who bought it back in 1963. I have the original bill of sale in the glove box. The truck was my best friend's Grandpa's truck. It is absolutely original with the exception of a few things I have fixed. Since I purchased it 2 years ago, I have replaced tires, brakes, bearings, shocks, battery, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ignition, fuel pump, oil/filter, fuel lines and had the tank cleaned. I had the radiator rebuilt from a 2 core to a 3 core. Motor was rebuilt at 110,000. Rims, front bumper, headlight rings and grill were powder coated bright white. The truck runs great and drives straight down the road. There is minor body work that needs to be done. There were some old man side mirrors that were on it and I took those off and there were holes that were drilled. Easy fills. Also, there is a minor wrinkle in one of the wheel wells were the bumper was connected and it was dinged. Again, an easy fix. The wood bed needs replaced but everything is there.... including the original wood. The driver side window does need a new track but it does role up and down. There are no seat belts because that was original equipment. Didn't come with them back then. Also, the wipers need to be hooked back up. This truck also has the "3 on the tree" so it's pretty cool to drive around in. This truck is simply a paint job and new wood away from being a cool driver. The gas gauge does not work. When I had the tank cleaned, I had them thow the float away because it was bad and I was going to mount a tank under the wood bed. So thats #1. #2, I do not have the original drivers side mirror and I threw the old man mirrors away that were mounted to it. They were horribly ugly mirrors. Also, this truck has never seen any snow. It is a true California vehicle. Purchased from a San Bernardino dealership off Route 66 (Bader Chevrolet) and spent its entire time in and around San Bernardino.
