Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a very original 1986 Porshe 944 Turbo originally from Texas. I guess you could call this a "survivor" or "barnyard find" since it has been sitting untouched in my garage for almost 10 years. It is Guards Red with black leather interior. Completely stock motor with no performance chip changes or modifications. Originally a Texas car with absolutely no rust. This is a rare collectable vehicle with a standard transmission and huge sunroof. The 944 Turbo is not to be confused with the regular 944. The 944 Turbo body is wider, the suspension and brakes are far superior, and the engine is amazing. When the 944 Turbo came out, it was in the "supercar" class as it could compete with the finest exotics of the time. This vehicle makes about 220 HP is stock form, but the body is so light that it seems like much more. It also has near-perfect weight distribution which made this one of the best handling vehicles of all time. The turbo kick makes this a very addictive car to drive. I've owned this car since 2001. That's 10 years. I have only driven it a couple of times when I first bought it and I can tell you that it is the fastest and most fun car that I've ever driven. It has been in storage in my own cramped private garage ever since. HISTORY: The car was originally bought in Texas, and brought into BC, Canada in the 1990s. I bought it from a local music celebrity that had the interior equipped with a very expensive (in its time) Alpine CD/changer stereo system that includes many speakers and some large subs and amps/crossovers in the back of the car. At the time, it was a $5,000 stereo system. I have receipts. The celebrity owner told me this car was used as a rolling sound test for famous recording stars. The owner was a music producer and the final cds were tested in the car with the artists in the passenger seat so they could hear what their music would sound like in a car (where most buyers listen to their music). I was told several members of Aerosmith were driven around in this car to let them hear their albums they had produced here in Vancouver, as well as other musicians that I can't recall right now. Of course, I can't prove any of this, but the previous owner told me these stories, and he was a famous local music producer, so it seemed pretty credible. The car has no accidents other than a minor run in with a shopping cart (since fixed). There are some ICBC claims in the history of the car for broken glass from break-ins when the previous owner had it. Before I bought the car, it was completely repainted by a very competent shop that made sure it looked new without any signs of being repainted. The previous owner decided to paint the whole thing because of the shopping cart ding on the rear and the usual chips on the hood. As such, the car now looks like new with no scratches or chips, etc. Remember that it has sat in a garage for 10 years, so it hasn't been driven around getting chips or dings. The black leather interior is average with some rips in the drivers seat (see photo) and some heat cracks on the dashboard (very common) due to the Texas sun. See photos. The car has 116,000 original miles, and there is a full service history of the car that includes documented full-synthetic oil changes every 3,000 miles. The car was regularly maintained by MCL motorcars in vancouver, which is a very high-end garage. No money was spared in the maintenance of this vehicle. I also have a receipt for a FULL CLUTCH KIT that was installed at around 100,000 miles. So it has a fairly new clutch. WHY AM I SELLING IT? I'm moving. I'm giving up my house with a garage, and moving to a house with no garage. As such, I have to sell my car collection. I'm also selling my Audi A4 Quattro Turbo project in another auction. WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT? It hasn't been started in 10 years! The battery died after a couple of months of storage in 2001, and I removed it, and parked it in a corner of my garage, where it has been gathering dust ever since. Mechanically, I'm confident it WAS in fantastic condition, as that was the way I parked it when I last drove it in 2001. In fact, I still have the last documented smog test pass from 2001. This car had always passed the local "Aircare" test with flying colours, since it's been in BC. However, having been sitting for that long means you can't simply throw a battery in and start it. You will have to tow it to a mechanic to have a proper "wake up". That may include things such as cleaning out the gas tank, possibly replacing the fuel pump, changing all fluids, taking spark plugs off and squirting some wd-40 down the pistons, etc., etc. I don't want you to have any dissappointments, so please assume the worst-case scenario, and bid accordingly. I think I've priced it fairly considering this car, when cleaned and running will be worth around $8,000 +. The car was painted with the emblems and side strips off it (as it should be), and have to be re-installed. The car includes the painted strips, and the emblems, but I believe it will a new front emblem (these are quite cheap). So currently, it has no side strips, no emblems, as per the photos. I also believe that a couple of the mag wheel center caps are missing. This car would require very little work to bring it up to show quality. THE LEGAL It is sold AS IS and WHERE IS and my starting price reflects that. It is worth much more than I'm asking. I'm the registered owner of the car and it is completely paid for with no liens. THERE ARE NO TITLE ISSUES WHATSOEVER. You can register it and insure it right away in BC. Will NOT need any safety inspections, but will require AirCare in BC. THIS CAR IS FROM TEXAS AND BC. NOT FROM BACK EAST. THERE IS NO RUST ON THE BODY. IT HAS NEVER BEEN WRITTEN OFF OR REBUILT. NO MAJOR ACCIDENTS IN ITS HISTORY. (other than a shopping cart ding on the side) It was last registered, insured, and driven around in BC in 2001. It currently is located in my cramped garage on my private property as per the photos. It is in North Surrey, British Columbia. About 2 hours driving North of Seattle, and 40 minutes driving East of Vancouver, BC. PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS BUYERS NEED BID. I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO RELIST THE CAR. IF YOU BID ON IT, AND YOU WIN, YOU WILL BE BUYING IT. PLEASE SEE MY FEEDBACK RATING. IT'S 100% FOR GOOD REASON. I DEAL WITH PEOPLE HONESTLY AND IN GOOD FAITH AND EXPECT THE SAME. SEND ME ANY QUESTIONS.
