Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1997 Toyota 4Runner, 2-wheel Drive, 5-speed Manual Transmission SUV. This has the infamously reliable Toyota 2.7 3RZ-FE 4-cylinder motor. I believe I am the 3rd owner. After an exhaustive two month search I finally found a clean (no rust), well-maintained example in Florida. The previous owner was a woman nurse, she used it as a commuter vehicle and replaced it with a Prius. After I purchased the vehicle I brought it to Charles Maund Toyota in Austin, TX to go over the entire vehicle. The truck has no rust, it was originally a Florida vehicle and is now a Texas vehicle. The paint is in excellent condition, the truck spent most of its time on the highway there are the tiny rock chips that you normally see in the front bumper. The interior looks brand new, it has always been a non-smoking vehicle. The air-conditioning blows cold (we need it cold here in Texas!) The truck is currently inspected in Texas and is good until 4/2012. It is outfitted with a trailer hitch, I did have a chance to use it once to pull a small u-haul trailer to move a couch and everything worked perfectly. I will include the trailer hitch with the truck. All power windows including the rear window and door locks work flawlessly. The second owner replaced the factory Toyota stereo with an Alpine CD player (removable face plate). It sounds great but I had planned on returning it back to stock and purchased a Toyota stereo which I will include with the sale. I am also include brackets that allow you to mount aftermarket speakers in the door without making any modifications to the door. I'm also including the custom sunshield which I bought at the Toyota Dealer, the dash is perfect (no cracks). Interior Issues - I'm being nitpicky but I want to be as descriptive as possible, the drivers side floor mat has a small hole in the top, it hasn't gone all the way through but it is visible. The carpet beneath is perfect of course. The drivers seat has a crack in it in the vinyl that has opened. The interior itself is outstanding, it looks brand new pictures here don't do it justice. All floor mats are included, this truck even has the 4Runner trunk mat. The carpets have always been protected. All tools are there under the seat. Exterior Issues - The previous owner backed the truck into the garage and bumped into a post the damage includes a small dent in the rear passenger side bumper, and a small dent in the hatch (hopefully you can see it in the photos here). Mechanical Issues - None that I am aware of. Everything works, clutch shifts fine I don't know if its original but that wouldn't surprise me since the majority of miles on this truck are highway miles. I had the dealer look at it when I bought it and they said it was fine. Why am I selling the vehicle? I commute back and forth to Dallas and although this truck is excellent on gas for an SUV, I have decided to buy a hybrid. The new hybrid is here so its time for the truck to go. Because I drive far from home often it was important to me to make sure the vehicle was very reliable, which is why I have spent so much making sure it is perfect. If you would like to fly in to pick up the vehicle we can pick you up at Austin Bergstrom International Airport, if you need to have the vehicle shipped let me know who you are making the arrangements with and we will be home when the carrier comes. The vehicle has just been fully detailed and will not accumulate any additional miles, it is ready for the next owner. I have the entire history of the vehicle dating back to the original owner. There was never any major work done according to the records outside of scheduled maintenance which included Brakes, Tires, Oil Changes, Regular Balance, Drive Belts. I always have my vehicles dealer service and only use Genuine Toyota Parts. 2010-04-05 Olathe Toyota - Purchased Tune-up parts (plugs, wires, coolant hoses, pcv valve) 2010-04-22 NIX 3RZFE Headers, Charles Maund Toyota found a small crack in the Exhaust Manifold internet research reveals that this is a common problem with the 3RZ-FE motor. This problem was fixed by Toyota in the newer models by using a mini-header. The mini-header is a direct bolt on OEM Toyota part. 2010-04-25 Charles Maund Toyota - Change Oil, Change Brake Fluid, Change Coolant, Change Transmission Fluid. (Replaced Upper and Lower Coolant Hoses) 2010-04-25 Olathe Toyota - Purchased OEM Toyota Belts online, local dealer did not have them in stock. 2010-04-25 Olathe Toyota - Pruchased New OEM Toyota Oil Pan, local dealer did not have it in stock. 2010-05-07 Charles Maund Toyota - Two additional keys. Original seller only provided one key. 2010-05-07 Charles Maund Toyota - Labor: Replace all drive belts, replace Oil Pan, Replace Exhaust manifold with header, Differential Fluid Change, Transmission Fluid Change, New PCV Valve, New Spark Plugs. 2010-10-25 Charles Maund Toyota - Change Oil. (No record, free oil change from dealer coupon). 2010-02-24 Charles Maund Toyota - Change Shift Lever bushings. Existing bushings were worn. 2011-06-18 Charles Maund Toyota - Change Oil. 2011-06-xx Wal-Mart - Brand new EverStart Maxx-24S Battery (This battery was rated by ConsumerReports in the Top 3 scoring a 78/100 and receiving very good/excellent) The battery it replaced was also an EverStart that was 7 years old! Receipt is included if you ever need another when the battery is in warranty. On Jul-24-11 at 15:33:00 PDT, seller added the following information:Went through the garage and found some spare Toyota parts that will be included with the truck. About a 1/2 Gallon of pre-mixed coolant, some small hoses, washers, oil filter, etc. Also found the pictures for the OEM Toyota CD Player and tape deck, it also has an amplifier. Long ago I purchased the tweeter pods for the doors, they are OEM Toyoata and will be included. As previously mentioned I have the brackets and speaker wire harness for front and rear to allow you to install aftermarket speakers without cutting into your doors or wires.
