Vehicle Detail

Sincere apologies for having to relist. The Ebay OVERLORDS decided to cancel my listing because I said the title was "Other (see description)". Title has now been changed to "Salvage" in order to appease Ebay! ******************************************************************** **CAR WAS WRITTEN OFF AFTER A SMALL ACCIDENT IN LATE 2007*** **IT IS CURRENTLY STILL IN "WRITTEN OFF" STATUS which CAN be changed to REBUILT status** **ACCIDENT IS FIXED BUT NEEDS FINAL SAFETY INSPECTION(S) - TO BE IN "REBUILT" STATUS*** ONCE VEHICLE IS IN "REBUILT" STATUS, IT CAN BE REGISTERED AND INSURED AGAIN. I have all the PROPER DOCUMENTATION, including ICBC write off and auction sale document, and an open transfer form from the dealer that bought it from the ICBC auction. The form can be put in the winner's name. Ideal candidate for putting back on the road, or turning into a track racer, or Rally car, or maybe just parting it out if you like? THE GREAT: This is my 2001 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8L Turbo with Tiptronic Automatic transmission and Quattro all wheel drive. It was written off in a minor accident in October 2007. I bought it in 2008, and have had it as a project since then. I would LOVE to keep this car, but I'm moving and losing my garage, so I'm selling my collection of projects. THE BODYWORK IS ALL FIXED AND CAR LOOKS PERFECT AGAIN. NICEST ONE I'VE SEEN OF THIS AGE. No chips, no scratches, no dents or dings. I have around $8,000 into this car and can show bills for most of that. Unfortunately, I'm forced to sell it. This is a MINT beautiful car that is a factory metallic black ("ebony pearl") with a MINT beige leather (or leatherette?) interior. With just 99,438 ORIGINAL and DOCUMENTED Kms, and being a ONE REGISTERED OWNER car, this car is practically new. It actually still smells new inside. Seriously, the whole car looks new inside and out, the photos do not do it justice. You have to see this car in person. CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN A BC CAR, NEVER BEEN BACK EAST. In fact, it spent most of its life in Victoria, which gets a heck of a lot more sunny days than Vancouver does! No rust! The trunk is spotless and comes with the factory unused spare tire. The trunk lid still has the removable emergency road reflector in place (see photos). The trunk still has the elastic cargo net installed. Has all the power options - power seats, windows, door locks, etc. Power sunroof is fantastic and all functions work as they should. It was owned by a DOCTOR since new and only serviced at the Audi dealership. I was able to get a full service history for the car showing the usual maintenance, synthetic oil changes, etc. No money was spared at the dealership to fix any problems when they came up. The last thing it had done was a full brake job for over $1,000 at the Audi dealer. That was at 97,747 kms. It now has 99,438 kms. So around 1,700kms on all new brakes. It comes with ONE original remote "switchblade" key, and full manuals. I was able to get the build codes from the spare tire wheel well (I have a photo I can send you), for you hard-core Audi fans: Paint code is the factory LZ9W "Ebony Pearl Effect". Basically a pearl black. Very beautiful in the sun. The original owner rear-ended someone in October 2007. It was NOT a huge accident. Airbags did NOT go off. I REPEAT - ***AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF.*** The impact did not go far enough into the body to trigger the airbag sensor - it was a light hit to the passenger front corner. The front airbag sensor on these cars is located on the driver side. The car probably should NOT have been written off, but the owner negotiated with ICBC to purposely write the car off for the repair amount, so he could just take the money and put it towards a new car. He just didn't want a repaired or rebuilt car, and it was already 7 years old, so he wanted a new one. The damage was limited to the front passenger corner of the car. It was repaired using original Audi parts from another 2000 Audi A4 that was written off from the rear. The replaced body parts (passenger side fender and bumper) were painted OFF of the car prior to re-assembly (so there is no overspray anywhere on the car) at the best bodyshop I know, and you cannot tell that part of the car has been repainted. Matches perfectly with the rest of the factory original paint. Perfect paint match, no overspray, no masking tape marks, and looks like new. Here are the parts that were replaced from the donor Audi, using all original parts: -Front passenger fender -Entire front bumper assembly (including cooling tube section behind bumper) -Front bumper shocks -Radiator support -Radiator -Transmission cooler Non-Audi parts replaced: -Front hood is aftermarket - it is still primered black. -Headlights are also aftermarket "halo" or "angel-eye" type. (I do have the original headlights still. The drivers side is still great, the passenger side is somewhat damaged from the accident). You will get all the original parts that came with the car! Old hood, old fender, old bumper, old rad support, old radiator, old headlights, etc. You can take them or leave them. You would be surprised, but people will pay several hundred dollars for even a damaged front bumper assembly with the headlight washers. So what does it need? A final inspection to be registered (it WILL have a "REBUILT" status once done). It currently DOES have an aftermaket hood on it that is primered black and fits great and looks fine. I'm just picky and have been trying to find a mint original Audi hood of the same colour that I won't have to repaint. Optionally, I would recommend finding a "gloss black" Audi hood, and just having the top painted the pearl black to match. Of course you can keep this hood on it if you like and it won't be a problem for the inspection. Some people actually like flat black hoods on their car, but usually it's the younger crowd. I have all photos of the repairs done, and have the original parts that were damaged, so you can see the extent of the prior damage - no surprises here. You can see in the photos, I have the original unrepaired hood still, so you can see the extent of the damage from the accident. This is NOT one of those cars that was bent in half or cut in half or anything like that. Minor repair, and I wanted to keep this for myself, but ....plans change and I have to move.. I've bought a new house with no garage, and I have to get rid of my car collection. I will also be selling my 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo in a separate auction. I simply don't have the time to finish this project and don't have any more money to put into inspections. FOR OBVIOUS TITLE REASONS, THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD "AS IS AND WHERE IS". I can't guarantee anything about this car, as I have NOT EVEN TRIED TO GO through the inspection process. It might pass with flying colours, or it may need more work. I just don't know. It starts and drives fine, although I've just taking it down my driveway and up the street. Goes perfectly straight, and I didn't feel any shimmies or weird anything. Steering and brakes feel great. That being said, I haven't taken it on anything longer than a 2 minute drive. I can tell you that it will need a new battery, as I believe this is the original battery from 2001 and not surprisingly, it does not hold much of a charge. But it will start when you leave the battery on a charger for 30 mins. I've been starting it once month for the 3 years that I've had it in my garage, and letting it reach operating temperature (about 10 mins of idling). Being in "write off" status means that it cannot be legally driven on the road until AFTER inspections are passed. So, NO, you won't be able to drive it home. You can't even get a one-day permit on it. To be legally moved, it has to be towed. That's probably best for the car anyways, as it has been sitting in my garage for over 3 years, and I would recommend that the purchaser got a full mechanical review on it before trying to drive it. I reserve the right to end auction early, as I do have it advertised locally in other sources. If someone buys it before the auction ends, then I will take this auction down as quick as I can to not inconvenience anyone. If you email me, I'll send you my cell phone number and we can arrange a viewing. Car is located in North Surrey, British Columbia. About 2 hours driving North of Seattle, and 40 minutes driving East of Vancouver, BC. Thanks! ***BONUS! If this auction reaches $5,000, I will include a COMPLETE spare motor and MATCHING transmission that came from the 2000 Audi A4 that I used as a donor for parts. Spare Motor code is ATW. Transmission is an EFQ code, type 5HP-19. Original and matching 1.8T motor attached and the transmission computer, so the code shouldn't matter but everybody asks anyways. The car has 120,000Km when pulled out and was running great. Thank you and good luck! PLEASE SEE MY FEEDBACK RATING. IT'S 100% FOR GOOD REASON. I DEAL WITH PEOPLE HONESTLY AND IN GOOD FAITH AND EXPECT THE SAME. SEND ME ANY QUESTIONS.On Jul-19-11 at 09:35:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Just wanted to add a couple of pieces of information. 1) I stated the car has power seats. I wanted to clarify, that the adjustment forward and backward and up and down appear to be manual. However it has a power LUMBAR adjustment. So there's a set of buttons on the side of the seat that make the lower back of the seat get firmer or softer. They also appear to be heated. 2) In the previous listing of this car, someone asked a great question, and i didn't get a chance to respond. They wanted to know if the car was showing any trouble lights. It was. -Car was recently showing a little "water fountain" animation on the dashboard. The manual indicated it was a low washer fluid. I checked the tank, and it was empty. So I refilled it, and the next time started the car I got a big "OK" displayed on the dash, and no further trouble lights or warning. So I believe it's not showing anything right now. It got me to thinking about going through the service history and listing all the trouble lights its had. I figured that might be useful for someone: -Jan 2005 with 56,782 Kms - it had a Air Bag light showing intermittently. The Dealer tracked it down to a rear seatbelt tensioner that was replaced. -Mar 2006 with 76,596 Kms - it had a generic MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light). The Dealer found a leaking vacuum hose and replaced it. -Mar 2006 (no Kms listed) - it had a #1 Check engine light? The Dealer replaced the Air Mass sensor. -June 2006 (no Kms listed) - it had a #1 Oil pressure warning light? The Dealer replaced the clogged oil pickup. That's all. Car was written off around October 2007. Hope that helps.
