Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1973 Chrysler Imperial Four-Door Hardtop equipped with the 440 cubic inch V8 engine and an automatic transmission. The Imperial is owned by the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania, a non-profit museum dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of transportation history. We recently took the car out of storage. It started right up with the installation of a charged battery and fresh gas. This Imperial in decent overall condition and can be used and appreciated as is or it will also make an easy restoration project for its new owner. It is offered with a reasonable opening bid and no reserve. The car is not for sale outside of eBay and the auction will not be ended early. All proceeds benefit the Museum. The car was test driven around the Museum campus. It was not taken out on the open road. It starts, drives, shifts and stops with no obvious problems. The vehicle is equipped with the typical power equipment. If you want to know about something specific, please ask. Most items are in working order with the known exception of the pop up headlight covers and the ac/heat system. The previous owner went over all the major mechanical items in 2007 but did not get to the headlights or climate control system. The body is straight and the doors and panels have good fit/alignment. The car was repainted fairly recently and a new vinyl top was installed at the same time. The paint shows a few noticeable chips, scratches and flaws, but is in good overall condition and has a high degree of shine. There are a few small bubbles under the paint, particularly at the lower edges, including a small rusted area near the bottom edge of one of the fenders. The interior is complete and in good overall condition. It features black leather, front and rear. The front seat appears to have been repaired and is in good condition. The rear seat has several small tears along the seams. The headliner shows a little bit of water staining. There is normal sun/heat damage to the dash and rear package tray and the door panels. All chrome, emblems and trim are intact with exception of the glass in one of the side view mirrors. The underside is in comparable condition to the rest of the vehicle; it does have surface rust, oil residue, etc. The car includes an extra set of wheelcovers and the original owner’s manual, warranty guide, accessory brochure, etc. all housed in a white vinyl “Imperial” folder. The Imperial is accurately represented in the photographs but interested parties are encouraged to ask questions and/or schedule a personal inspection. This vehicle is offered as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. It has a valid Pennsylvania title which will be transferred to the new owner upon successful completion of the transaction. Shipping and transportation of the car will are the responsibility of the new owner. We will gladly work with you or the shipper/transporter of your choice to coordinate the move. The new owner will have two weeks from the completion of the auction to pick up the vehicle unless other arrangements are made in advance. The car is located at the AACA Museum, 161 Museum Drive, Hershey, PA 17033. Payment may be in the form of cash, money order, cashier’s check or PayPal.
