Up for bid for your consideration is a wonderful 1939 Cadillac 60 Special sedan that had a complete ground up restoration 15 to 20 years ago and was driven sparingly and shows very well today. The 60 Special Cadillac’s were custom cars by Cadillac and were a design of Bill Mitchell. This lovely Cadillac came from a great collection many of which were Cadillac cars including three V-16 cars alone. This car is what I believe to be a low mileage rust free car before a complete ground up restoration was performed. If you see some of the pictures of the underside it is still clean and dry and with some detailing on a lift one could get the road use dirt off. The black paint has a wonderful mirror finish throughout with no checking and other than a few very minor spots that are hardly noticeable the car looks as though you did it recently. The mileage shown on the car of 63,469 could very well be original from new and the reason I say this is that all the details on the car are so crisp such as the factory chrome plating on all the dash work and instruments including the steering wheel and so good they look redone. The woodgraining on the dash and all the window reveals are the best I have ever seen and look as though you were back in 1939. All the outside chrome plating from bumper to bumper was properly redone and is beautiful today. The interior with its Beverly rear seating has also been completely redone from top to bottom including the headliner and carpets and is wonderful including all the door handles and details. The sill plates are very nice on the front and mint on the rear. All the glass is perfect and the windows work very well and if you look at the pictures I have shown how nice the plating is around the outside widows and these are areas most people do not do because of the work & cost involved. The tires are like new and are the correct Firestone wide whites including the spare. The trunk area is also super with the correct factory padding that most people never get right and as you can see form the pictures how clean and rust free this is. The engine bay area is still nicely detailed and tidy and shows well and the factory porcelain on all the manifolds are in great original condition, also a sign of its great original condition. The car as you can see has the factory radio and heater and beautiful sunvisors. There are also a great set of period trippe lights on the car as well and seat belts have been added. Mechanically the car runs out beautifully and has had a recent optima battery with an added shutoff for long storage. Also recent was a complete turn up including a factory New-Old-Stock in the box complete distributor unit installed. All the hoses are correct including the proper clamps and the wiring throughout is in very fine shape. The engine is whisper quiet and smooth to the point you could put a glass of water on the engine with hardly a ripple. The brakes & clutch are great and the car rides and handle as a good example should. The exhaust has is also new and is stainless steel throughout. If I had to say anything about the driving of the car it would be that there might be a little play in the steering, nothing life shattering and something that could be addressed at a latter date.BR>Everytime I look at this car I cant help think of the Godfather and Marlin Brando getting shot and falling down on the front of the car in the movie, in fact after I got the car I had to see the movie again for the 900th time. The car also comes with an owners manual and a beautiful felt lined custom car cover. I have priced this car way below market even in this economy and someone is going to get a fine example of a full classic Cadillac for the price of a nice Ford Model A, Well Below $ 30,000.
