1969 R-Series R69S model. If you are looking at this motorcycle, then you probably understand the history of this model between 1968 and 1969. This one has it's original black lacquer paint job. This bike has 37,000 original miles on it. It is in fantastic condition. This motorcycle is all matching numbers and there are no after market nuts and bolts on this bike. It also has the original tool kit and the original owner's manual. My brother bought this motorcycle in Reno, Nevada from the original owner. It does have after market mufflers. The handlebars are not original. The seat is not original, but we do have the original seat, that has been redone, as you will see in the pictures. I also have the 2 chrome hold bars for the original seat. Since my brother bought this bike, we did not title it until 2002. Since 2002, only 200-300 miles have been put on the bike. It stays in a garage with other motorcycles and collector cars in a controlled environment. All the motorcycles and cars have been very well maintained. It has the minor chips and dings that you would expect from a 42 year motorcycle without restoration. I have been restoring cars and motorcycles with all my brothers since I can remember. It has been a pure pleasure to take on this project for my older brother because I am amazed at how this lacquer paint job has held up all these years. You have to give the German credit under their harsh conditions. It stayed in Reno, Nevada for the bulk of it's life which probably contributed to the excellent condition of the bike. This motorcycle starts up on the first kick after priming the carburetors and rides like a dream. I am going to pick up a new battery for it this week. It is also listed locally so I do reserve the right to end the auction early. If you have any questions, please call, but it is up for aution with a reserve and I will not stop the auction.
