UP FOR SALE OR REASONABLE OFFER... 1998 GMC JIMMY (Basically, a Chevy Blazer) Thanks for considering & looking into this truck. I've had it a few years now & it's been a real good truck. The engine has alot less mileage on it than the rest of the truck. The guy I bought it from had bought it from a mechanic who had put a new Vortec V6 in it. He said it had right around 160,000 when the fellow put it in & has 240,521 on it at the moment. So the motor really only has ~80,000 miles on it. I had a brand new fuel pump put on it as of a summer ago. That's really the only thing, other than regular maintainence, that I've done or had done to it. The transmission is automatic. Although it doesn't have a reciever hitch, it does have a 2" ball mounted solidly on the bumper. It is wired for a trailer & has more than enough power to pull one. I pulled a heavy boat all over the state with it & it does fine while using less gas than a V8. I have both a spare Oil Filter & Air Filter for it as I always try to keep them on hand. The body is in really good condition, there is absolutely no rust on it, nor is there any flaky or faded paint as was the case for many 1990's models, but it does have a few little scratches & dings you'd expect on a 13 year old truck. Also has factory lightly-tinted windows. The interior is still in great shape, no rips in the upholstry, the carpet doesn't even seem matted down, just a little dirty at the moment. The power windows, power locks, heated power side view mirrors, & power seat all work great. It has nice center console as well as other storage spaces throughout. The rear seats can be folded down flat, flush with the rear to make extra space for moving or sleeping on a camping trip. Also has a Kenwood CD Player that works well & a Kenwood Equalizer (which is just for looks now, it quit functioning). The Air Conditioner never has put out cool enough air as it should, it could just need recharging. The rear windshield wiper has never worked since I bought it & it doesn't have a spare tire. The mechanical functioning has a couple minor problems that you should be aware of, but they don't hinder driving it any. The electronic 4-Wheel drive wasn't functioning, I thought it could be the transfer case, the lights would show the 4-Wheel was engaged even though it wasn't, but as of today (4/24/11) it is working good again. So, I imagine it's just a loose connection in the wiring, much better news than the transfer case. The brake booster is out (leaking vacuum pressure), but it still stops OK, it's just like stopping back in the day before power brakes came along. The parking brake was stuck, has since been disconnected by some idiot-wanna-be-mechanic. There's a few dashboard lights on, the Brake, ABS, & Service Engine Soon lights stay on. I'm sure the Brake & ABS are due to the booster &/or parking brake. Somebody please correct me here if I'm mistaken, but it's my understanding the Service Engine Soon light comes on automatically when it's time for regular maintainence & you have to have a computer gizmo to turn it off. The Airbag light comes on & off intermittently for some reason as well. Other than those few things it runs fine. I hardly ever use it anymore as I don't get out much. The places I do need to go are almost all in a 1 mile radius.
